Morwenstow Vacation Packages

There is no discounted parking which is why I booked this particular hotel. The hotel is ok, staff friendly enough. Had to chase a few things up which is a bit annoying and beer choice unavailable but like I said it was ok.

Nice hotel particularly for people with a car. Convenient car access and plentiful parking. Area is near a motorway and with an open window there was some minor car noise but otherwise quiet. The area is not walkable and there are no nearby shops or restaurants. On the other hand, the attached restaurant was excellent both for breakfast and supper. Staff was extremely helpful. Never used the gym so cannot comment there. Good wifi and plentiful hot water.

A very disappointing stay. We booked a deluxe sea view (with large bay window) double or twin room via Expedia. On arrival at the hotel we did not get the room we booked and paid for. According to Expedia’s description and photographs the room we were given was a STANDARD double room for SINGLE occupancy. As the hotel was fully booked we had to tolerate this very small room with four steps up to the bathroom and really not enough room for two people. The room in no way bore any resemblance to the room we booked and paid for. The hotel blamed Expedia for shunting us into this room as all the others rooms were booked. They insisted it was suitable as a double deluxe - Expedia did not describe it as such. Expedia were at fault and have now compensated us but the hotel need to make sure Expedia are representing their rooms in an accurate way and acknowledge there is n error there. I see from previous reviews we are not the only ones to experience this. It totally ruined our stay. The valet parking is very odd - cars are parked (by staff) in front of each other so you have to ask to get your car out. We did not use our car while staying as on arrival the member of staff that parked our car failed to put our handbrake on. Fortunately we returned to the car for our luggage and realised it moved when we opened the boot. We did not trust them to move the car again. The hotel need to look at Expedia’s room descriptions and make changes.

There is a lot that is exceptionally good about the hotel. The staff are extremely helpful , the food and drinks of high standard and the spa area very good. The only slight downsides were poor WiFi although this seems to affect the whole village when we visited. We’d love to come back.
