Very impressive castle with ample parking and 3 EV charging points. Lovely staff. The lounge/ bar area was spacious, but the furnishings are tired and jaded. The dining room is beautifully presented, crisp white linen and sparkling cutlery and glassware . Breakfast was excellent, evening meals were a little disappointing. Most guests will have a room in the Castle View buildings which are separate from the castle. Room was a good size, although the furniture had seen better days, but with the advantage of working air conditioning. The bathroom was spotless. However, the mattress was uncomfortable and unfortunately we experienced a fire alarm at 03.36, no explanation and no protocol observed.

Exquisite place with elegant rooms and great food

The BEST hotel we stayed at during our 2 week trip to UK. The hotel itself is unbelievable - part of a long gone history, impeccably maintained with very clean grounds, facilities and rooms. The staff is extremely polite, attentive, patient and professional. The rooms are very clean and intimate. The restaurant is exquisite and the food just out of this world. From the first bite, to the last, you wish plates would keep on coming. Highly recommended and quite affordable.

We can't praise this hotel and the staff highly enough. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Its a lovely little castle. The tour is wonderful. Staff and service were very very good. The menu was limited and even steak/veg/ attracted an extra charge. The veg on the menu was limited to various potatoes and tenderstem brocolli or green salad. The food we had was beautifully cooked and presented.
