We were greeted with a handshake which is always a good start. Our hosts, Neil and Rosemarie were welcoming and eager to make sure our stay was a good one. Our room was spacious as was the bathroom and shower. We were pleased with the coffee machine and the fridge on the landing for the cold milk. The small touches are what makes this hotel a special one. The bar downstairs proved popular to watch the world cup and we appreciated the hospitality during the evening. Breakfast was cooked to order and taken on the deck. The swimming pool was excellent. Car parking is easy and plentiful. One small point is that we would have appreciated a fan in our room which was very hot. Given the extremely high temperatures we are all experiencing it might be something to consider for the future. Otherwise everything was absolutely fine and of a very high standard.

The hotel had free parking and close to beach . Bar closed at 10.30 so no late drinks . Room was clean, had to ask for clean towels as stayed for 3 days and although room was checked daily only basics done bin emptied cups washed. Would have been nice to have had clean towels daily and shower cleaned. Breakfast was included good choice although fry up not that fresh it felt thou bacon had been kept warm maybe would be better if we had breakfasted earlier. The fresh choices better options as cooked to order . Recommend eggs Benedict was delicious. Plenty of pastries to choose from .They catered for GF very well . Pool a wonderful bonus available to book for private use of 45 minutes had jacuzzi and sauna plus small pool . Towels for pool available from reception remember to ask as they don’t offer. Staff all wonderful same staff doing numerous shifts they work hard made stay very enjoyable will recommend as good place to stay.

Lovely refurbished room, comfy bed ,excellent breakfast and plenty of parking . This hotel far exceeded our expectations and was closer to town than we thought The only slight downside was the regular banging of a door ( presumably a staff door/ kitchen ? ) until about 11 pm on Saturday night and then again from about 7.45 in the morning but otherwise a very quiet room

Property generally has good amenities with a good golf course and a reasonable golf bar and gym/swim facilities. That is why everyone chooses to stay. However, there were many flaws which i would like to list to help others in the later feedback templates.

I had to ask staff how to turn ths shower on. There was no switch or button, and nothinh indicated on the shower itself. It turned out that an unlabelled part of the structure had to be pushed doen. It needs a label. Other than lack of a Duvet, everything else was fine.

This is an historic property, family owned and run. Cherish its personal attention to details.
