This was my second stay at Regal Inn...the front office is always manned by friendly folks. The room is super clean. It has everything you would want, including an iron and ironing board, fresh towels nice shower. It has a barn door for bathroom door, which is very clever. The area is surrounded by commerce, on both sides of Hiway 90. I enjoyed the small mall less than a mile away; inside was a country buffet with different foods...gizzards and mustard greens.

Inexpensive, clean

I made a reservation and was surprised that a room was assigned on arrival, instead of having a specific room reserved in my name. Also, I've never before signed a statement at check-in agreeing that I had (only) ten minutes to change my mind. The appearance of the room was a great relief after the appearance of the check-in space, which needs paint and other improvement. The room was clean & comfortable, and I felt safe. A nice surprise a mini-fridge and microwave; they were not listed as amenities & did not show in the online photos (their cabinet is pictured but empty). I had to ask for a replacement battery for the TV remote. The drapes don't completely block the street light; they don't extend beyond the edges of the window; the door/outside wall does not completely block sound. I stayed 3 nights, the first night there was a lot of noise from the highway; the other two nights were fine. Not crazy about the barn door for the bathroom. No breakfast provided, but coffee available in the office/check-in space. Restaurants and a Publix grocery are a short drive. Overall I would be willing to return but probably not my first choice for Lake City. If I stay again I will bring my own pillow, though, these were too thick for my comfort.

Unable to wake up front desk person to check in

Arrived very late (2:15 a.m.) to check in after a long drive. Room was fully paid for in advance and the description indicates there is 24/7 front desk so I didn't think it would be an issue arriving late. When we got there the front office was locked. We could see someone in the office sleeping in a chair and attempted to knock loudly and ring the doorbell but the front desk attendant would not wake up so we wound up leaving without staying at the property so unable to comment on the condition of the room or anything else. I called Hotels.com today for a refund given the circumstances and they tried to reach out to the property to discuss but couldn't get anyone to pick up the phone and said they would email me back in 72 hours. I respectfully request a full refund for the night since we were unable to use the room even though we were there.

An awesome spot in Lake City

Quiet motel in Lake City was a big surprise....the grounds were very well kept; the inside of the unit was gorgeous, spacious and super clean. I cannot say that about many of the motels that I rent, but Regal Inn is awesome. The check in was easy, and the lady at the front office was very friendly and accommodating. Read some of the reviews, they were actually pretty good so I thought I would give it a chance. I wrote this review from the hotel room the night that I stayed, not after I’d left and so far no issues. The place was clean, all the lights worked, location was pretty good, and there was a Denny’s just down the road where I could get my breakfast in the morning. Parking lot was well lit and very fast Internet download speeds although pretty bad upload speeds if you wanted to send pictures or video out. Honestly, I can’t complain although I hadn’t tried the shower yet but there was decent water pressure from the sink and the toilet flushed good.

I really liked this room. Really like the colors and the beds and the barn door to the bathroom. The gentleman at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The air conditioner and the shower worked perfectly. We got a great night's sleep. And the price was perfect.
