My sister and I enjoyed our stay in the "Noni" bungalow. It was quiet and naturally pleasing. Our stay was from July 18, 2017 to July 21, 2017. I recommend staying here as it is directly near the coast (walking distance) and a great large, warm body of water to swim in which is north of Isaac Hale State Beach and is overseen by a lifeguard.

"Lovely B&B for exploring the Volcano National Park"
This is a lovely Bed and Breakfast in close proximity (less than 10 min) to the Volcano National Park. We stayed for three nights. The innkeeper is lovely and creates a fabulous breakfast with fruits, waffles, muffins, quiches etc. All guests are having breakfast together at one big square table, which is nice to get connected and share travel highlights. Our room was clean and beautiful. We had plenty of towels, a shared fridge in the main area, free bottled water, free Wifi, a small patio and the innkeeper was there to help if you needed anything else. We used the hot tub twice in the evening after a long day of sightseeing. Very relaxing. This house is basically in the middle of a tropical forest at the shoulder of the Kilauea. Its very green and you hear the frogs singing at night. A perfect vacation stay. Thanks so much! We hated leaving!

Lava Tree Tropic Inn is a beautiful and well maintained property. After seeing the beautiful nature of Hawaii I can't see why anyone would want to stay in a big resort. Irene, the owner, was very helpful with anything we needed and very knowledgeable about things to do both locally and all over the big island. Breakfast was fresh and locally sourced every day! We fell in love with Hawaii and look forward to returning. When we do, well be staying here again! Thanks for everything Irene :-)

"A beautiful place, close to Volcano National Park"
We had a wonderful experience here. The suite was in excellent condition and super clean. It's very beautiful and peaceful! The hospitality was sweet and caring. We couldn't of asked for anything better. Loved hearing the frogs sing at night. Do bring some warm clothes because the temps get quite chilly at the higher elevation and the breeze can be cold. Beautiful hiking trails at the park. So many wonderful things to do!!

"Great Bed and Breakfast with wonderful hosts!"
We spent three nights at the Volcano Ranch Bed and Breakfast. We originally booked the King Bed Suite, but apparently Expedia mistakenly listed that room as available on our first night stay when it was not available. The owner's fortunately had room in their bunkhouse room. We thought this was a great room. It was separate from the main house, which provided privacy, and was nicely furnished. The owner's explained the mishap and offered to move our belongings to our originally booked room the next day while we were out exploring. I expected a bit of a downgrade when moved to the King Bed Suite in the main building. However, we were pleasantly surprised to find this room to be even better than the bunkhouse room. The bathroom was beautiful with a spa tub. Both rooms were superbly furnished and all sorts of supplies were made available including bathrobes, snorkeling equipment, binoculars and guidebooks. The owners also provided a homemade folder with valuable information about nearby parks and recreation, as well as, local restaurant hours and menus. Breakfast was fantastic with local fruit and a wide variety of items available. Overall, we had a great stay at Volcano Ranch Bed and Breakfast and would recommend it to anyone!

"Superb"
We've been in Maui/Hawaii for over two weeks now, staying at a variety of B&B. This is easily the best one: Cindy is just the most perfect host, she's kind, caring, attentive, yet discreet. The care and love with which she prepared the room for us, with such attention to details like toiletries, books, coffee and tea capsules for the coffee machine, microwave & minifridge, beach towels/snorkels/cool box/beach chairs...and the list goes on. Her breakfasts are delicious and varied. I mentioned I have oatmeal and eggs for breakfast and she prepared them for me every morning. My husband likes English breakfast tea (she has a huge selection of organic teas but didn't happen to have exactly that) and she got it for the next morning. The bed is very comfortable. The grounds are lovely and in immaculate conditions. What can I say - a true gem.

"Wonderful out of the way stay!"
This bed and breakfast is tucked away at the edge of the Puna Peninsula! It is perfectly located to enjoy all the east island attractions yet have the tranquility of the best deck around for breakfast. It was a peaceful and delightful start to every day. So relaxing. It isn't glitzy but a down home island feel making all the choices yours. The walk to the coast line is less than five minutes away and absolutely stunning. Very clean and every detail well thought out. It is so worth the cost as so many extra percs are included. The proprietor Mary, is a wealth of knowledge for whatever you want to ask. She is willing to stay out of your way or be as helpful as you would like. Her suggestions for activities, short cuts, and dining recommendations were superb! She is set to equip you with anything you could think of to make your day even better. Who needs a guide book when you can ask Mary! Every recommendation she made for all of the island ended up being one of our favorites.

Kalapana is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Kalapana, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Kalapana hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
