You could tell that the hostel has been a work in progress over the years built on a solid bed of black lava and completely off of the grid! Nothing is the way that we're used to in our day to day living but everything that you need is there! If I've intrigued you, then try this awesome place! We opted for the deluxe room with private bath. Our room as well as the entire place was immaculate throughout! We were staying there after witnessing Kilauea's 47th eruption. This unique hostel was about an hour away from the volcano! The host was Marissa and she greeted us when we arrived there late evening. Her outgoing personality made us feel right at home thru a rainy night in room #10 with an exceptional breeze while we slept! Our delicious breakfast of pressed coffee, homemade waffles and fresh mango filled out stomachs before our departure! My husband and I truly enjoyed our experience there but unfortunately for only one night! Try it, you'll love it!
