"Hotel in Snow Village"
Hotel was tucked away in a tiny little street in Nozawa Village. Parking was very limited at the hotel and we in fact got parked in the following morning when we were due to leave. Hotel staff were lovely and their English was good. Room was clean and spacious, had kitchenette so was able to cook breakfast in the room which is handy and breakfast was included in our stay so again, very helpful. The village is small and very hilly, so be prepared to do some walking up and down hills. Not very close to anything if not snow season.

"Fantastic relaxing Onsen"
I had read previous reviews (as you do) before we went to the Biyunoyado and was happy to see it score so well but i was still pleasantly surprised with the place. From the moment we arrived the staff were lovely to the very moment we left, we decided to make the short walk back to the train station ourselves to stretch the legs before the train journey to sendai and we had one of the staff run over to ask if we needed a lift and we were also being waved off by two of the others. The Onsen are lovely, it's nice that they switch round so that you can enjoy both of the rooms, both are lovely so either way you are not hard done to! We also decided to rent the private onsen on the roof for the 40 minutes and i'm really glad we did, it was really relaxing and it was nice to have the time to ourselves and for such a small cost it's such a bargain! There's a free shuttle to the snow monkeys which is worth doing as the walk wouldn't be great, and we found the staff so welcoming and helpful, it really seemed like they were happy to help. We also decided to have the Japanese breakfast instead of the Western and i'm glad we did as it really enabled us to enjoy the full traditional experience, I can understand that it may not be for everyone but I would really urge anyone to give it a go. We stayed for 2 nights after doing the Magome to Tsumago Nakasendo highway and i honestly couldn't think of a better way to relax or rave about it more!

"Most expensive hotel of our honeymoon but WORTH IT"
This was the last place we stayed during our honeymoon trip to Korea and Japan — we had the "Japanese Style with Open Air Bath B (Take)" room which was massive and featured an outdoor bathing area with piped in hot spring water. We had an amazing host who explained everything about the room, a spectacular dinner was included, and overall a really magical evening. Definitely worth the cost. Still thinking about our time there...

"Outstanding traditional hotel in Kusatsu-machi"
We were a family of 4 on a touristic visit to Japan. We ended our trip in the famous onsen town of Kusatsu with two nights at the Kusatsu Hotel, and were happy that we saved the best for the last. It was a wonderful, memorable experience. The hotel staff were exceptionally attentive and helpful even by Japanese standards, and we really enjoyed the traditional rooms and hotel garden. The onsen (hot baths) in the hotel were excellent, with cooler outdoor pools among greenery, and we never used the public baths. The hotel is at the edge of town, next to a park, and everything is within easy walking distance. We didn't take meals at the hotel (very expensive) so can't comment on them. Overall, we highly recommend this hotel for a high-class experience of a Japanese onsen.

"Good value hotel close to town and station"
10 mins walk from Nagano station, this hotel is well located and the rooms are larger than normal for Japanese hotels. Built about 20 years ago (probably for the Winter Olympics in 1998), it is still a modern hotel with good quality facilities.

"Affordable and Convenient Hotel- Pleasant Stay"
As with most business style hotels in Japan, rooms are small but very clean and comfortable. Nice bed and shower, which ultimately is what we are looking for when traveling anywhere. Extremely convenient to the train station, to restaurants and convenient stores, also walking distance to the major temple-"Zenko-ji". Perfect all-around for what we went to Nagano for. I would recommend this hotel as a wonderful budget option. One draw back though was first trying to find the hotel. Since it is inside a complex, it was a bit hard to find for us at first when we came into town late at night. But that was the only inconvenience of the hotel.

Iiyama is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Iiyama, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Iiyama hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
