Unsatisfactory Service

I didn’t get to stay. Hotels.com search engine changed the dates of my search without me realizing. I booked and paid for two rooms to attend a theatrical production on July 24th. For some reason, the dates were changed, and the rooms were booked on the 16th. I looked at the search screen for hotels.com, and my search dates of July 24-25 were still there. I also have theater tickets for the 24th. This was not acceptable, and Hyatt refused a refund. I was planning to rebook at their hotel once I received the refund, but I booked elsewhere using a different booking site. So long Hyatt Place, and so long hotels.com/Expedia.

First, when you arrive there is no parking available. You drive into what seems to fit only 3 vehicles bumper to bumper. The valet needs a ticket to park your vehicle, but you have to check in to receive a ticket, so you have to make a mad dash to the 3rd floor where the front desk is. So there’s that. Secondly, the receptionist was a bit rude. I mistakenly added my 18 yr old granddaughter’s name for the first room, which I kept trying to explain to her but she kept cutting me off, and the second room for my husband & I-the cardholder. I was able to check-in to one room, but the receptionist said my granddaughter had to check-in to the other. Because I had gotten off by myself to check us in quickly, I had to go back to the ground level for my granddaughter, we go back to the 3rd floor, only for her to say “oh I can’t check her in, she has to be 21”. When adding the number of rooms on the website, it does ask how many adults & children, which goes up to 17 yrs. So, there was that too. Anyway…the rooms were clean. They smelled a little musty, not that bad to request a change. The bathroom door is a sliding glass door. So really you have no privacy when nature calls. I was not a fan of that. The pool is small. The picture on the website is deceiving, looks a lot longer than what it is.

I will never book Hyatt again!

I booked a room that was able to sleep 6 people. Two queen sized beds and a double pull out from the couch. When we got there, I was told that they over booked our room and they were sending us to the Hyatt Regency instead. We had to stand in line again to get our car out of valet. We went to the Hyatt Regency, checked in and went to the room. There were only two queen sized beds. Only enough room for four people. I had already paid over $200 for the room at the Hyatt Place. I was told at the Hyatt Regency I would have to purchase another room at a discounted price to sleep the 6 people that I had already paid for, or they could refund my money and go elsewhere. We had already wasted over two hours with this run around. I decided to take the refund and go somewhere else. Needless to say, I’m still waiting for my refund and my daughter’s 14 birthday was ruined. Worst experience ever. The front desk people at the Hyatt Place were extremely rude. The people at the Hyatt Regency were very nice.

Bed was very uncomfortable I woke up with a backache every morning, the plugs need to be updated to plug anything you need to push with all strength to get it in and some didn’t work and you couldn’t plug anything in.

It was a pretty good stay overall, my only complaint is that, there was no microwave in the room. The other thing was the elevators taking forever to be called and the fact I could only find 2 of them.

The general surrounding area was very nice and easy to walk with small children to get to where we needed to go. Our room was average for the cost and a decent place to sleep for the night. Nothing fancy but also not run down. The only problem we noticed was the carpet near the window was very wet. We were only staying one night so we didn’t make a big fuss about switching rooms and just blocked off that area to keep our kids away. The staff and complimentary breakfast were nice. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.
