Room on 2nd floor was very hot - it was during the recent heatwave - but when we asked for a fan the staff responded immediately. Good service. Nice garden to sit for bar snacks.

We had booked a basic room but was disappointed on arrival as there was no shower in the bathroom, only a bath. There were lots of midges on the inside of the window and very limited hanging space for 2 with 5 coat hangers between us. The room was also small. We were staying for three nights and were away from home for three weeks so had lots to hang up. However, on sharing our view with the staff they were really helpful. They made us a complementary cup of tea whilst they found another room for us. We were given a free upgrade to another room which was far better. The food and service at this hotel was very good. They mention that they are gradually refurbishing this hotel and perhaps they had not yet managed to do this on the first room we were offered.

"You get what you pay for"
I needed a cheap stay over and found this hotel on Expedia for only £36 for a double room with breakfast. At that price I wasn't expecting much as long as we could get our heads down for the night. The hotel was built in the Victorian era and needed a little TLC - the usual story with these large hotels. However on arrival we were greeted by a lovely reception area with a bar to the left and breakfast room to the right. The staff were helpful and the lady on reception told us they were expecting us and our room was ready. The room was spacious, warm and clean. There was an abundance of tea, coffee, milk and sugar. The bed was comfortable and the ensuite was clean. The shower was forceful but when my husband ran the bath, the water was slightly discoloured from a rusty tank- Victorian plumbing!!!! The floorboards creaked a little and the furniture was dated but that was expected. We were shown to our breakfast table by the waiter and were told to help ourselves to cereal and fruit juice. There wasn't a great variety but enough. Porridge and Breakfast was freshly cooked and served at the table. All in all for the price we paid, we were pleasantly surprised and would happily stay here again

"The most loveliest b&b we have ever stayed in"
The agents house is a lovely old house in Whitney on wye. We were over the moon with our room, "the agents room", everything was perfect. The kitchenette was stocked with our breakfast and there was a variety of teas and coffees and everything else you would need. The room was beautifully decorated, the bed really soft and comfortable and the most thickest and softest towels you could wish for! We definitely recommend "the agents house", and will be visiting again if we are up in that beautiful area again. We were made so welcome.

Hay on Wye is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Hay on Wye, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Hay on Wye hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
