Funchal Marina hotels in Madeira Island, Portugal

Perfect location, half way between marina or lido areas

A relaxing little hotel with pleasant garden and pool. Clean and tidy with easy access to local bars and shops. Funchal city centre 10 minute walk away. Plenty of local buses or taxis to use

Convenient location. Beautiful room. Super easy check-in. Fair price. The only downside was that our apartment did not have air conditioning, so we had to sleep with the windows open. Our particular room faced a road with LOUD traffic, which kept me awake. So it was either a very hot room (30 degrees in Funchal when we were there early July) or loud traffic. The hotel is up on a steep hill and doesn't have elevators. Keep that in mind if you're traveling heavy or with people with disabilities. Not a problem for my group.

We have stayed at the Royal Savoy a few times before, and continue to enjoy it. A good location, and lovely public areas.

Location of the hotel good but breakfast starts to late. We have ferry at 8am and we could not have breakfast.

We've stayed many times. We come just to relax. Never disappoints.

Hotel has a lot of charm and isin excellent location

The hotel is set in pleasant gardens but there is not much opportunity to sit in the shade, the room was OK but set at the back of the hotel on the ground floor so did not get any sunlight onto the balcony (I couldn't use the balcony as a result) and the bathroom was for someone with a disability and not really comfortable for me. I had little interaction with the staff apart from a very clipped woman who recorded that you had been in for breakfast and two receptionists, one of whom was very helpful and the other less so. I was coerced to attend another hotel only to find it was a sales pitch for the hotel club which was a good offer but not one that I could afford to take up and caused embarrassment when I was made to justify why I couldn't afford it. Pestana are the largest chain on the Island and offer this 'Time of your Life' experience but I came away slightly disappointed.

We stayed for 3 nights in April and it was perfect for us. Quiet location, room with a kettle and fridge, and room cleaned everyday. Staff friendly and helpful.
