"Excellent Hotel"
A very smart, comfortable hotel which goes out of its way to make you feel welcome. The friendliness of the staff and always being polite makes the stay even better. The breakfast was lovely with something to cater for all tastes. The leisure facilities were lovely as well. Lunch on the top patio overlooking the sea was a sheer pleasure.

"Ideal base to explore Funchal and beyond"
We stayed at Vine hotel for 6 nights during our January vacation to Madeira. We are very satisfied with our stay. The Vine hotel is so centrally located in Funchal, we easily strolled to all major attractions. With free parking in its basement, we were able to use our rental car to explore rest of the island. Rooms are modern and clean, and the specious soaking tub is surely useful after many days' long hours of hiking. Breakfast is a generous spread with good choices. The front desk staff was very helpful in giving us tips from hiking trails to restaurant choices. Madeira is such a beautiful island, and our stay at the Vines just made our trip near perfect.

"Beautiful views"
We were happy to walk just over a mile into town and back but part of the road had no pavement and was very steep, however there is a regular bus, also there is a hotel shuttle. Lovely gardens, terraces and pool with super views over Funchal and the port. Excellent staff & good selection at breakfast.

"Wonderful hotel in a tropical garden setting"
This hotel offers an oasis of calm and green, unlike many hotels we saw. Amazing views of the sea though the palm trees amidst the twitter of birds. Spacious rooms with a lovely balcony. The swimming pool complex was relaxing with the ability to swim from indoors to outdoors. Excellent breakfast with a very wide choice on offer. Staff were very friendly & helpful with excellent English and we also noticed German.

"Hotel with style and real values of courtesy"
The hotel was lovely and had a feeling of warmth from the moment you walked in. The staff really made you feel like they wanted you to be there and that they would like you to return at some later date. Our room was large and airy, the bed comfortable and the bathroom everything you would expect from a good hotel. The only downside was that there was a busy road next to the hotel and so if you opened the doors it could be noisy during the day. Double glazing did however keep out most of the noise. The hotel restaurant was very good and the food was generally of a very high standard. Breakfast was buffet style which was an amazing selection of local specialities and the normal things you would expect to find. You could also have anything from a cooked food menu.. Dinner was equally good with a pleasing selection of well cooked food. There were a couple of themed menus during our week there which were interesting. The restaurant staff were all excellent and could not do enough for you. The bar was equally well staffed. It was good to have a cocktail before dinner (especially at 40% off during happy hour! ) and the food at lunchtime was good and always most courteously served. Although we did not use them there was a Spa, 2 pools, a games room, a small gym as well as plenty of areas where you could sit and read a book. I can only emphasize how good all the staff were and how welcome we were made to feel

"Quiet hotel with fabulous views"
This was our third or fourth stay at Quinta do Monte, always in the quiet month of January. As repeat guests, they upgrade us to a larger room if they can. We have a lovely room with fabulous views down to Funchal and the harbour, in the modern wing at the back of the historic old Quinta.

Madeira Island is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Madeira Island, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Madeira Island hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
