Parking was behind a large mechanical gate which did not always work. Could sometimes be noisy outside in the evening due to college clientele. Had to park on the street most of the time because of gate issues.

The front desk man when we checked in was not friendly, even when given a compliment. He was in a rotten mood. The lobby reeked of weed all day and night Saturday. Thankfully it was gone Sunday. The hallway to the room was stinky and dark. The room was decently clean, but the bathroom walls had stains on them by the toilet, and the carpet wasn’t very well cleaned. The walls were dusty in the room. It seems Delmar is not doing as well as years past. We have stayed in the Moonrise many times over the last 15 or so years and it’s definitely not like it used to be in the area, which is sad! I’m not sure if we will come back.

Oh my goodness—I absolutely fell in love with this hotel from the moment I arrived. What impressed me the most was the neighborhood. It is such a beautiful, peaceful, and charming area that I spent all of my free time simply walking around and enjoying the atmosphere. Everything is within walking distance—great restaurants, shopping, cafés, and anything else you might need. The neighborhood feels incredibly safe, clean, and family-friendly, and it was honestly my favorite part of the entire stay. The hotel itself was wonderful as well. It was very clean, and everyone on the staff was welcoming and kind. I especially want to mention the lovely woman working at the bar downstairs. She was incredibly friendly and would often offer me water while I was sitting in the lobby working on my laptop, which was such a thoughtful gesture. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and the towels were replaced regularly throughout my stay. I truly enjoyed everything about this hotel, and I already know that I’ll be staying here again the next time I visit.
