"Within walking distance to everything"
I've stayed here a few times and have always been pleased. I had two issues this time. First, when I go online to book a hotel I search for hotels that are pet friendly. This hotel came up as pet friendly so I booked it. When I got to the hotel I informed the manager that I had my two small dogs with me and he gave me a little bit of hassle about the dogs and told me that I was supposed to call and book the room. He argued with me and told me that it states online that I have to call. I checked Expedia this morning and couldn't find that statement anywhere. I always book online for convenience. I told him to cancel my reservation and refund my money and I would go elsewhere. In the end I was able to stay. Second, our room had a leaky air conditioner. I was told by the manager that the leak was small but upon entering the room the entire floor from the wall to the bed was soaking wet. The rug started to have a smell due to the wetness. I told the manager and he came with towels to sop up the water but the rug remained soaking wet during our entire stay. It was unnerving getting up in the middle of the night to walk to the bathroom and stepping onto a sopping wet rug. I have allergies and asthma and the dampness and the smell caused me to come home with a sinus headache and tightness in my chest.

"Excellent view"
This is a nice little hotel right next to the water with a great view of sunsets. The hotel is close to the downtown area, but a little hike. The staff are very pleasant and extremely helpful. The room was comfortable and quiet. I definitely recommend this hotel.

"Walking distance to most everything"
The hotel has a great location, which was it's biggest selling point. The young man who checked me in was poorly trained in customer service. When I asked if he could recommend a good seafood place that wasn't closed for the season, his response was, "You've been here before, you know." Then he said, "I only go out for pizza, you want pizza?" He finally did mention Zack's and Steamer's (closed for the season). The room was comfortable and clean. The bathroom looked newly renovated, but there is no place to put toiletries in the shower. My shampoo bottle ended up falling off the toilet tank, into the toilet. I enjoy fishing, but not from a hotel toilet. Also, there was no place to put my suit case. The room could sleep 4, but where would you possibly unpack??

Somewhat dated but the owners more than made up for that. Their attention to detail and willingness to help made this a pleasant place to stay.

Garden and the Sea B&B Inn

"A great place to stay"
If you visit the area, Garden and Sea Inn should be at the very top of your list. Not only it's a beautiful and restful place, the staff is some of the most friendly and hospitable people we've ever met, and bend backwards to make your stay the best it can be. First - the place. We visited the area this week to watch tan ATK-Orbital rocket launch. We usually stay at hotel chains, but there are not many there, and we decided to give Garden and Sea Inn a try. VERY GLAD we did. The B&B is a well kept Victorian historic house, decorated with a lot of antique furniture, complimented by eclectic modern pieces. That's not an easy combination to do well, but clearly the owner and her team have a great eye. We stayed at the Chantilly room, that had a rattan bed, an oak wardrobe, two Victorian armrest chairs, and nightstands made out of primitive statues. Sounds quirky, but believe me it all made for a great atmosphere. What ties everything together is the great color combinations. The theme is based on pale blue, salmon, and greys and it is very relaxing and cheerful. Every detail was well thought out. Example: in the bathroom there is a power outlet for hair dryers, and the like. In front of it there was a glass with a towel to hide it, so that it doesn't jar with the decoration. Small detail, but very telling. Second: Amenities. Our room had wi-fi, TV, refrigerator, coffee machine, and, (drums!) Jacuzzi. For what we paid, that is a steal. A similarly equipped room in a chain wo

Island Resort

"Fantastic view"
All of the rooms overlook the waterway and beautiful marshes between the island and the mainland. I really enjoyed the wonderful sunsets and watching the flock of egrets settle in for the night in a small grove of trees on the edge of the marsh. Each room has a small balcony (room for two chairs) but the resort also has a couple of decks with tables and chairs that the guest can use to enjoy the scenery. My room was large enough but the placement of the two double beds was odd and made walking around in the room difficult. The decor was dated. The bath was very clean. My unit had a minifrig and a coffee pot. I had friends that said in a different hotel in town. We all agreed their room was nicer but our view was the best. The four of us gathered at our place each evening and enjoyed the wonderful scenery. I would stay at the Island Resort again.

Eastern Shore Virginia is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Eastern Shore Virginia, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Eastern Shore Virginia hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
