The location and facilities are excellent. We loved the pool and hot tub. The breakfasts do need a little imagination however!

"Walking distance to most everything"
The hotel has a great location, which was it's biggest selling point. The young man who checked me in was poorly trained in customer service. When I asked if he could recommend a good seafood place that wasn't closed for the season, his response was, "You've been here before, you know." Then he said, "I only go out for pizza, you want pizza?" He finally did mention Zack's and Steamer's (closed for the season). The room was comfortable and clean. The bathroom looked newly renovated, but there is no place to put toiletries in the shower. My shampoo bottle ended up falling off the toilet tank, into the toilet. I enjoy fishing, but not from a hotel toilet. Also, there was no place to put my suit case. The room could sleep 4, but where would you possibly unpack??

"OK Hotel"
The staff was great the hotel though is remodeling so not the experience I was expecting. My room smelled musty and that surprised me but I will continue to book this hotel for my annual fall birding visits

"Fantastic view"
All of the rooms overlook the waterway and beautiful marshes between the island and the mainland. I really enjoyed the wonderful sunsets and watching the flock of egrets settle in for the night in a small grove of trees on the edge of the marsh. Each room has a small balcony (room for two chairs) but the resort also has a couple of decks with tables and chairs that the guest can use to enjoy the scenery. My room was large enough but the placement of the two double beds was odd and made walking around in the room difficult. The decor was dated. The bath was very clean. My unit had a minifrig and a coffee pot. I had friends that said in a different hotel in town. We all agreed their room was nicer but our view was the best. The four of us gathered at our place each evening and enjoyed the wonderful scenery. I would stay at the Island Resort again.

"Awesome staff"
The room was fantastic (we had a suite overlooking the water) and the view was amazing. But it's the staff that made our trip memorable. My husband had to work over the weekend, so I decided to take my kids (ages 4 and 7) by myself on a weekend trip to Chincoteague Island, which is about 3 hours from home. We had all sorts of adventures planned, but literally two minutes after I checked us in, my 7 year old started vomiting and we spent the next day holed up in the room because he was so sick. I couldn't leave with him to get supplies, and I certainly couldn't leave him alone. So, I called down to the front desk to ask if it would be possible for someone to bring us some ginger ale for him. About 20 minutes later, there was a knock at the door, and the very kind woman from the front desk had put together a care package for him with all sorts of things that one might need when battling a stomach virus. She asked how he was doing, made my four year old smile, and went on her way, but that small act was much bigger than she realized, I'm sure. I was exhausted and overwhelmed being away from home with a sick kid and not having our usual support, but her small gesture made a lasting impact that we will never forget. It is so unusual to have that kind of personal service, and I was so grateful for the help that day. We unfortunately had to cut our trip short and head home a day early, but we will be back for sure.

"Southern Hospitality!"
We have been visiting Chincoteague for over 30 years, but just started staying here a year ago. LOVE the location because we can easily walk right into town, and our room had a wonderful view of the bay. Special mention to Pinky and Nicole, the breakfast ladies, who are always so gracious and helpful.

"Excellent view"
This is a nice little hotel right next to the water with a great view of sunsets. The hotel is close to the downtown area, but a little hike. The staff are very pleasant and extremely helpful. The room was comfortable and quiet. I definitely recommend this hotel.

Hard to say too much as we were only there for a couple of days in the middle of a snowstorm, but the front office and staff were friendly and the room was neat and clean.

Chincoteague is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Chincoteague, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Chincoteague hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
