Absolutely perfect location for karneval. Close to everything you need to have a good time. Great restaurants and bars nearby, transit is 30 seconds outside the hotel, can't ask for a better spot. And the rooms are HUGE for Europe. Our one issue was the room was extremely dusty and the pillows were basically non existent, but small price to pay for the location.

We decided to finish our road trip and gig of bands I've never heard of, but the younger generation knew who they were, with three days in Cologne. We booked the Maratim Hotel due to the location and how it looked. The hotel was very clean and the staff very attentive. I did think that the car park, which was located under the hotel, was very expensive, but that may be because I'm a Yorkshireman

Hotel is in a great location, especially for the Christmas markets. The breakfast is good. But the rooms are way too hot and no way to adjust the temp. Also the reception staff wanted €5 for the hotel robe to use the pool so be prepared for all the extras.
