We used the free airport shuttle and had a very nice driver. Hotel has a Casino, Sakura and Hard Rock Café on site. The staff were very friendly and the room was clean.
My only complaint is - noise. The walls are thin, we could hear doors opening and shutting and lots of conversations in the hallway. There were younger visitors that kept running up and down the halls until around 9PM (Yes, I know this sounds early, but we had a 4AM flight to catch the next day). Then around 2AM the older (drunk) visitors decided that we had enough sleep and needed to be woken up, so they proceeded to sing and talk very loud.
* Also, we were unable to adjust the A/C - as we were hoping to drown out noise.

Walk to downtown- straight shot in 10 minutes. Good breakfast. Great staff and tour pick ups. Only issue- Air conditioning out in our part of hotel- but when we requested room change- moved within 30 minutes. Beds comfortable and water good- temps and pressure. My husband and I would stay here again.

"Perfect for a quiet vacation (even for families)"
We stayed here for spring break. We had two kids with us, a 10 and. A 13 year old.
We enjoyed our stay, we had no idea what to expect and to a large extent, the hotel did meet our expectations.
It really depends on what you are looking for. If you want a smaller boutique hotel l, that is quiet and not in the middle of noisy downtown or crowded with a lot of tourists, then this is your perfect hotel! It was clean, the staff was very friendly. The food was pretty good in the two bars, we enjoyed the selection there. The prices for food and drink are on the high end but this seems to be a Costa Rica thing. Apparently, this is how they get more revenues. The great news is that there is a local mini grocery store right across the hotel where you can buy some snacks and drinks at a reasonable price. Also you can order pizza to the room, it was a great pizza!
We had a ton of activities from Jaco. Great location for any. I would recommend these: Tortuga island, which is amazing scenery and a lot of fun for a whole day including free alcoholic drinks. The white water rafting, the zip line and the Manual park were great. I would skip ATV.
Surfing is great there, relatively easy and cheap to rent
