"Extremely impressed"
Room was clean, quiet and very comfortable. I love the fact they are energy conscious with motion sensor lighting. The complimentary breakfast was respectable, however a little variation would be nice.

"Great place!"
Had a hard time finding this place because the online directions were wrong. However, the difficulty finding it was more than outweighed by our experience with the hotel itself. Definitely not your average American sterile, all-look-the-same hotel: the hotel was full of paintings purchased by the owner along with other art work. Polished wood, tile floors, multiple seating areas, extremely helpful staff, beautiful room with seating area, clean, comfortable. Everything was perfect. An amazing breakfast was included all for $118 for 2 adults & 2 teenagers. Definitely recommend this hotel.

"Only come here if your spending more than one nigh"
If you need a hotel for the night before you catch a flight then I would recommend staying in Alajuela. It's closer cheaper and more convenient to the airport. Downtown San Jose is about 30-45 min drive depending on traffic, and there will always be traffic. On top of that the hotel charges $35 each way to shuttle. You could prob get a cab cheaper I found one for $20 but on the way out I couldn't. Another option is the bus which is super cheap if your more adventurous. Hotel is modern, nice and close to everything. The beds were not great, I had a hard time sleeping, and I like a hard mattress but when you can't get your pillow to conform it's going to be very uncomfortable.

"World Class Service "
I've stayed at a lot of very nice hotels but nothing with as great of service as this coffee plantation hotel. The entire staff was friendly and all but a couple maids spoke perfect English. The chef is friendly and outgoing so have a chat with him at the outdoor dining area and bar while enjoying your afternoon free cookies and amazing coffee. He's trained in Orlando and spent many years as a chef in Naples, FL. His food is as good as any 4 star restaurant in the US and most of it comes from the green house and chickens onsite. After the first dinner we decided to eat every meal we could at the hotel and work our way through the entire menu. The spa was was excellent as well and very accommodating. My wife and I arrived about 3:00 and each had a spa treatment before dinner. I wish I'd made time for another one before I left. The only downside is driving near San Jose. I rented a car and mapped out my route thoroughly but once I left the airport I found out that Costa Rica does not have street signs and most roads are barely two lanes with no lines painted and run through neighborhoods. The only way to navigate is by getting a hot spot device and using Waze on your cellphone. The turn to the hotel is almost impossible to find and the sign on the road can only be read from 10 feet away. Just stop at Britt Cafe and ask for directions while loading up on the chocolates you'll pay triple for at the airport. I'll definitely be back with a larger group next time!

San Jose is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in San Jose, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your San Jose hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
