"Hotel with character "
We only stayed here one night before leaving Costa Rica but it was perfect for our needs. The hotel interior is pretty amazing- a maze full of art, antiques, and character- and fun to explore. The location is a bit out of the way but easy to park and close to the airport.

"Fine for my purposes."
Keeping in mind that this room was simply a place to lay my head at night, I found it to be more than satisfactory. Touching on some of the key topics: STAFF- when I arrived (alone after 10pm), I found the desk attendant less than welcoming. He was just barely doing his job. Most other desk attendants were at least slightly more friendly. FACILITIES- I didn't have time to use the pool, but it looked nice from my window. Unfortunately, there was construction occurring immediately adjacent to the pool during the week that would certainly have made it less than appealing. CONDITION- The hotel appeared to be in over good condition and satisfactorily maintained. ROOM CLEANLINESS- The room was cleaned every day, soaps and towels were replenished without incident. ROOM COMFORT- My room was more than large enough for me, even with a king and a twin size bed I had plenty of room to skip rope without moving furniture. With the tile covered concrete floor, I felt confident that I wasn't disturbing any neighbors. My room had an air conditioner that was mounted to the wall so I could adequately control the temperature, unfortunately the condensation from the unit caused a dripping sound as it dripped on to the unused twin bed. LOCATION- The location was satisfactory for my purposes, however some might prefer to be closer to some type of entertainment. DISTURBANCES- As I usually left early in the morning and didn't return before 8pm, I seldom even saw the housekeeping staff.

"Need to take cab for $20.00 to downtown"
The 2 bedroom units were very small and only had one bathroom making it difficult to share with another couple. we upgraded to two - one bedroom suites that were very nice for size and king bed that was very comfortable. The furniture(ex. orange couch) in living room needs replacing as old and stained. One of the suites had an updated brown couch that was very nice and new. Outside buildings were very quaint and beautiful. Lovely stained glass windows. The tubs in both suites leaked and floor was very wet. Takes time to get any towels and service. One of the dining room tables had a glass top that rocked terribly. We reported this but nothing was done. The staff did not tell us we had complimentary breakfast with the upgraded suites and one couple got to the dining room at 10:05 and could not have free breakfast as over at 10:00. The cabs that the hotel booked for us, none of the drivers spoke any English and we had to call the hotel for the return trip. The steak was wonderful in the restaurant. We did not know that they charged for every cup of coffee. The front desk took quite a bit of time to sort check out as we had upgraded and meals. We are glad we did it a day before leaving as it still was a problem on leaving day. In an area that is far away from everything and not able to walk in evening outside our walls.

"Beautiful hotel, needs to improve customer service"
This is a brand new, beautiful hotel on the main road in Santa Anna. Where to begin. The phone number listed on Expedia for this hotel in not correct, neither is the location shown on the map. Had to call Extended Stays to get the correct info. With confirmed reservation, I arrived at hotel at 6:30 pm. The gate attendant told me the hotel was closed and everyone had gone home for the night. My Spanish is not good, but I was able to communicate that I had paid for a room and needed to use it. He contacted a manager who came to the gate and handed me an envelop with parking space number, room number, and keyless entry code for room. The hotel is large and I was left to find the parking space, room, etc by myself. No signage to tell you which direction to go. The room itself was very lovely. The next day, I received an email confirmation that was addressed to me but was for another customer.

"Good for a stopover"
Stayed one night and it was sufficient. We were in a room on the street which was pretty noisy. Staying longer you would ask to be in a room away from the road, or one where the window could be closed. The bed was comfy (we did find a long hair on the bedsheets) and the shower hot. The breakfast was eggs, toast, fruit and cheese. Order in Spanish! Nicely cooked. The hotel transfer was good and they hold a sign with your name. The reception staff were helpful with taxis etc.

"Close to US embassy"
Very secure hotel but other facilities not walkable. Lobby and parking behind barred fences. Nice staff, good clean rooms and very nice breakfast. Quick elevator serviced the 4 floors. They called us a taxi and made sure driver took best route to our destination. Good stay. Could have used better map to find place. A local citizen had to call hotel for directions and followed him to hotel.

San Jose is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in San Jose, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your San Jose hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
