This was a disappointing stay. The property and houses are beautiful and the staff is lovely. The location is wonderful. However, the carpet in the executive king suite was disgusting. The carpet was stained in multiple places throughout the room. Not just a few stains here and there, but large areas of multiple stains. When I inquired, I was told the carpet would be replaced in the future when the property was renovated. The carpet is completely unacceptable for a property of this calibur and should be replaced immediately. Additionally, during my 4 night 5 day stay, the houses on both sides were under renovation, with construction starting at 8am and continuing all day. I had intended on working in the room on one of the days and was not able to do so due to the construction noise. The renovations were not disclosed prior to the stay.

I had an image of my US passport, which includes a photo, in my cell, and I had various credit cards, plus - of course - the hotels.com itinerary number. They rejected all of these, saying I needed to show them an ID. So they wouldn't give the room I had paid for, and at 8 pm I had a find another hotel.

The hotel staff was extremely nice and welcoming, and it was great to have the extra space in our room, especially since we were traveling with our kids. Unfortunately, the hotel was extremely loud during our stay. One morning, there was even a group of kids playing hockey in the hallway directly in front of our door at 7:30 a.m., which was pretty disruptive. The breakfast was convenient and nice to have available, but the breakfast area itself was not very well maintained. Unfortunately, the same was true for the pool area, which was not clean at all and could definitely use more attention. Overall, we really appreciated the kindness of the staff and the extra room for our family, but the noise level and lack of cleanliness in the common areas took away from what could have been a much better experience.
