Location was good near beach and high street. Staff was very helpful and left us to our own devices (which we like ) room was basic and clean and tidy parking was in the main car park of turner street which is just behind the hotel but was not a problem plenty parking spaces .

Stayed in a feature room, really authentic. Staff are great and spa access was £15pp.

Dreadful noise all night so much so left at 11-15 pm to drive 120 miles to get some sleep - response from property to hotels.com was that the hotel was quiet Believe it was probably staff making the most noise Dirty towels in bathroom on arrival Poor accommodation & level of cleaning overall

Hard to review this place. On the positive side, the owners/staff are nice. The room was clean. On the negative side, I have several points. The bathroom is tiny. I'm a small, thin person. I have no idea how a slightly larger person would turn around in it. There was no hot water in the tap, so face washing was cold. ( The shower had hot water). But the main negative was the noise. I understand that this is rooms above a pub. But I did not expect the VERY loud music. I stayed Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights. I can not imagine ever staying at a weekend again. The music was loud until 11:30 PM on the first two nights. So loud and thumping that it was impossible to even watch tv in the room, let alone attempt sleep. And even after the noise below stopped, you could hear music from other bars close by. On both Fri and Saturday, there were people drunk/barefoot/arguing/vomiting at the surrounding bus stops and doorways. I chose Darlington as a convenient stop over on my way north, but I would give the whole town a miss next time. Pass.

Lovely, modern room in quiet setting. We booked room only but other facilities eg hot tubs were available to book. Comfortable bed and good shower. Coffee and tea making facilities in the room.
