"Beautiful beach, fabulous chef"
This place grew on me. Initially I was disappointed that it was nowhere near as "lush, tropical" as the pictures showed, until I realized that all of Baja is desert. It is well designed & maintained, with direct proximity to a great, LONG deserted beach. (During Easter the beach is covered with tents and campers, and at all times there are ATVs) Ones experience here will likely be based upon time of year visited, busier in fishing season. In Feb it is nearly empty, very peaceful, no insects, baby turtles hatching. Most days were good for sunbathing, a few were too windy, but then you can watch the kite surfing. The staff were exceedingly considerate of my elderly mother, and gracious at all times. Food was somewhat limited in choices but unusually well prepared and presented, top flight chef. My bed was hard, my mom said hers was comfortable. The walls are thin, so a different time of year could be noisy. The resort is very good for limited mobility guests, although our room (#49) had a single step up between the beds and the table/entry area (tripping hazard and wheelchair inaccessible). WiFi seemed to be functional only in the restaurant. A few miles north are lots of restaurants, small shops, adequate supermarket. Driving a rental car was easy and safe. We toured some Cabo all-enclusives and decided this little resort is by far better (and cheaper.) Just realize it is 40 years old and adjust expectations. Perfect for us!

"Rustic campground feel"
We had a really good time here. I'm not a big camper and I think this place is more geared to that type of person but I enjoyed myself none the less. We rented a 4 wheeler for a day which was the high light of our experience. We flew a kite, 4 wheeled on the beach and through and around town, walked down the beach, ate out and cooked in the kitchen as well. A little bit of everything. We felt very comfortable. The ocean is right down the road but it is rocky so expect quite a walk up the beach before you hit sandy water. Or you could get an ATV!!

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
