QR code and door code check in was a bit confusing as was able to get in front door but then message to tell me what room I was in took 5 minutes to come through leaving us just waiting in an unmanned reception.
Room was comfy but in a poor state of repair - sink completely cracked, shower head bracket broken, back of bathroom door had a hole that had been very poorly filled with polyfiller, carpet needed a good clean.
Would stay again as a cheap overnight with friends after a night out but not with family.
Arrived at the hotel to find the limited parking consists of 3 spaces. Parked on roadside 10 minute walk away from hotel. Have restrictions on where you can park and for how long in Clifton.
Code sent to my phone of access to hotel room no and another access no as already checked in online. Lady at the desk who I had met earlier to find out about parking informed us we had no booking with them. Took 45 minutes to sort which was very frustrating and offered no apology.
Clifton is a lovely place to visit and have stayed here before but sadly this experience has made me not want to go there again.
The bed sheet and duvet was stained by blood. We asked them to change them which the friendly receptionist did but even the new duvet was bloody. They did not leave us even one small bottle of shampoo like all other hotels, not even a small lotion. This hotel is far from shops and it was a difficult night without any of these. The room was smelly, smelled like a very old and rusty place with a stuffy feel to it. They did not have a bar or even a vending machine. They some breakfast snacks which was also terrible. We did not have water. When we asked for drinking water they only gave us one small bottle not even two.
I cant tell you about the stay because on the day of the booking i called to check on parking and was was told by hotels.com that the parking was full and i would have to find parking elsewhere. I have a van and couldn't park anywhere. I asked Hotels.com to cancel my booking but for some reason, that didnt happen. I was asked to ring the hotel, i rang at least 10 times but they never answered and the one time they did, they couldnt tell me anything as the booking ref from Hotels.com was not one that they recognised. They constantly sent me messages about how was my check in and others that didnt make sense. They said that they tried to call me but i had no missed call from them. They even asked me to review the hotel!!! I never stayed there. Hotels.com have now asked me to cancel the hotel or i may get extra charges!!! The date has now passed and the service or lack of, from both the hotel and hotels.com has been the worst i have ever experienced when booking through hotels.com. No one talks to you anymore, I am seriously thinking about moving my business elsewhere.
Cheap & cheerless
No staff on reception so it felt very impersonal (everything done by door codes)
I was in a basement room that smelled damp, I hope that other rooms would be better

Stayed one night mid week. Good clear comms prior to the arrival. On check in, reception staff member hardly spoke to me, just handed card machine over for payment

Disliked: Cleanliness, amenities
You get what you pay for not much. Room small. Carpets disgusting. Breakfast consist if cereal bars and some fruit. No service, no coffee machine!
Lights didn’t work in the toilet, or main ceiling light, bites from the bed next morning, carpet very dirty, shower was freezing cold.

Cancelled but still rooms available?
Beware booking rooms in advance as hotel cancelled with no explanation. Reached out to them via email but as yet no reply.
Booked a twin room but a double would have sufficed but no alternative offered by hotel. Rooms were still being advertised on other sites at a higher rate up to the day of visit. If booked in advance make sure to keep an eye on your emails.
Avoid staying here. Staff were not helpful or friendly. They messed up our booking, when we tried to enter our room there were two staff members in bed. We then were moved to another room, but were then bothered a couple of times in the early hours of the morning by another guest trying to get into our room. Terrible service.
I really didn't like this hotel. It felt unsafe. Nothing on the windows to stop them from fully opening on the top floor to walking past fire doors I had my doubts about.
Don't go for the breakfast option it's not worth it.
The location was good but I barely slept and wouldn't recommend it
The carpets are filthy, room grubby, hotel generally dilapidated, and grim. Was told there would be parking but it was all taken by the property management!!
This hotel is well place but tired -peeling walls and really old stained carpet .Whoever is doing the cleaning is doing a great job as the room was very clean but for the money so basic.
We saw two other couples struggling (one at 3pm and at 8pm) to get in because they hadn't received the email to check in beforehand and no one answers the phone number on the email .
You can hear the other rooms easily through the walls and ceiling.
Struggling to find the breakfast this morning and no one to ask .
i really liked all the snacks IHAD a very early flight out of Bristol like 6.a.mboarding time if i had not had the snacks i would have been starving PKLUS they checked me i nearly WITHOUT an early arrival time i just lucked out ..very close walking distance to al l shops and groceries if catching a flight i recommend..plus UBERwas reasonalbefrom there to airport..kids at the desk rarely leave town, research all your options yourself!
This is a tired hotel. The carpet in our room did not appear clean, the type you hesitate removing your shoes and definitely not your socks. Stains too. It looks like it could do with a carpet cleaner wash!
Someone's hair band was left in the bath. The mirror was so badly cleaned that it was hard to see your reflection. Broken store slats in the bathroom. A lamp in between the beds with no visible plug?
Bedding was clean, but the beds not very comfortable with a clear sinking in the middle. We were top floor with no lift and next to a shared bathroom for two other rooms, meaning we could hear back and forth in the night for those rooms.
Breakfast was poor. Dont book thinking you'll get parking, there's only 2 spaces at the front on a first come first served basis and not much help with where one can park otherwise when i called the night before.
Sorry but I would not stay again nor recommend.
