Pro: beside the interstate and a crackerl barrel. The front desk young woman was very attentive. Excellent service. Cons:There were ants all over my room. Everything was broken or out of order from the pool, the ice machine and even the door that house the outdoor trash. Recommended: that is really up to you, but for me, it's a no go next time.

I was shocked at the size of this property. The room was spacious and the lobby smelled super clean when entering the hotel. The best part was the affordable rate for this room. Very glad we stayed here.

The staff seemed to genuinely care which made all the difference to me. Don't be mean to them. The property is older and does show it's age. The continental breakfast was decent with you staples like cereal, waffles, eggs and sausage, juice and coffee. That said, the room was not the cleanest, we did have to request fresh bedding which was promptly provided. But the beds were comfortable and the air conditioning worked great. We asked to be somewhere quiet and staff was happy to accommodate. Please note that the place was also pretty empty during our stay so your experience may vary. I found two ice machines and they were both off or out of order which was disappointing but the property is down the road from a grocery store so it wasn't big deal to grab some there. I would absolutely stay here again.

Staff was friendly and welcoming, although helpless to deal with certain situations. The outdoor pool was "temporarily closed", a dangerously broken chair in the room took almost 12 hours to replace, the Wi-Fi did not work 75% of the time. There were ice machines on every floor, none of which were working. It felt like they were getting ready to close the hotel down…

Wingate by Wyndham in Christiansburg, Virginia. This is without doubt the worst hotel I stayed domestically. They charged about 5 times normal rates for the Virginia Tech graduation dates. The staff at the desk was very rude and did not let anyone check in earlier than 3pm even though all rooms were ready. Internet did not work our whole 4 day stay. No safe in room, plugged up sink, wall peeling, slippery bathtub with no mat or grab bars, so-called Business Center empty without any equipment, no maid service even when asked for after three days, snack shelves completely empty in lobby, electric plugs in room defective, broken chair in room, ants in room. Breakfast service food was empty half an hour earlier than of breakfast time. I could go on and on - this is a bad mark for a hotel carrying the Wyndham name.

You get what you pay for

This hotel was pretty basic. Price was right and it's just off the highway. But it's a no-frills kind of place. The room was clean but the hallways had an awful odor. The breakfast was minimal and the staff were there to do their job and nothing else. I guess we'd stay again if needed but wouldn't be my first choice

Average basic hotel. Elevators had a bad smell Clean Bathroom is updated Water pressure was good It's right by the interstate, so noise can be an issue for some
