"Nice hotel in great location "
We visited here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was very comfortable and reception staff very welcoming and helpful. The location was brilliant being right next to the famous Bryggen on the harbour, close to the fortress and two of Bergen's many museums. It was easy to get to as it is the last stop on the flybus to/from the airport which stops right outside. Most of Bergen's main attractions are within easy walking distance. We tried out the 26 North restaurant in the hotel on the first night, the food was delicious, all sourced locally, particularly recommend the mini venison burgers with goats cheese and also the scallops. The staff in the restaurant were lovely. A bit pricey but that is normal for Norway! We took advantage of the buffet breakfast each day, the choice of food was extensive and included some Norwegian specialities including brown cheese, smoked fish and pickled herring as well as more normal choices. Staff were all friendly. A great place to stay for a special occasion.

"Close to train station, but nothing else"
We picked this hotel because it was close to the train station. However, there are no restaurants except Burger King near and no sights. Next time I'd stay nearer the fish market or Bryggen and take a taxi to the train station.

"Middle of Town"
Was a bit put off with entry lobby when I first entered. Not much charm. Desk clerks did speak and understand English. Was not able to check in until 2:00pm. The desk clerk gave us a key and told us we could leave our bags in a closet was on the lower floor. I had requested a room with a balcony or at least windows that opened and was told there were no balconies. We were given a corner room on the 3rd floor which faced a very busy street (lots of traffic noise but also lots of light, windows that opened, and view of the nearby hills... a good trade-off for me). The breakfast buffet had tons of options - eggs, all sorts of fish, meats, cheeses, breads, muffins, cereals, fruits, juices, coffee, teas. It seemed like plenty of seating to us (I'd seen some negative comments on this but, even though it was very busy, there was plenty of tables.) The hotel has two bikes that you can use for free. While Bergen is not the bike-friendly city that Copenhagen is, there are some bike paths available. You can ask for bike helmets at the front desk although it didn't look like many people there wear them. Bathroom was big enough. Shower - no tub. Plenty of hot water. Location is very central. We took a taxi from the cruise ship to hotel as we had luggage but could have walked if we didn't have the bags. Bus to airport -1 block walk away. EVERYTHING is expensive in Norway (not that I ate one but the Big Mac meal deal is over $10!) so this is probably good value for area.

"Read the Reviews before booking!!"
This is definitely a budget hotel where they charge for new clean towels and housekeeping. The location is not very central, it's a 30 min walk to downtown. I stayed at Magic Hotel for 4 nights and had booked this hotel before any reviews. I wish I could have read the reviews before I booked! The hotel & restaurant is not fully completed yet. As such, breakfast was ham sandwich, yogurt, apple, juice and cake. This got pretty boring after day 2. The young lady who checked me in was in training and was nice but not competent. We tried for an early check-in after travelling all day and was told to come back several hours later. For a hotel that is not fully booked, I don't know how our early check-in request could not be accommodated. When we finally checked in, it was in the smallest room at the end of the hall with no bench. We took a look at the other hotel rooms on our floor and they were bigger with a long bench.

"Nice hotel close to Bergen airport. "
Pretty good facilities with very kind staffs. Very clean and quiet too. Would be nicer if they had better chair in the room. Behind the hotel, there is a tram that can take you to city, that accept credit card. So I didn't withdraw any money in Norway. Pretty handy.

"A very good stay"
This is an old-world style hotel that really delivers. We had a wonderful stay, a comfortable room, a welcoming staff. It's a perfect location for exploring Bergen. Perhaps it could be a bit modenized, but it's just fine the way it is. A great value.

"Adequate hotel with great location"
Nearest airport bus stop was about 5-10 minutes walk, but note that the bus stops at several other places on the way and even with no traffic (4:05 a.m. departure) the ride took about 40 minutes. Hotel provides a basic breakfast box with one ham & cheese sandwich and a small bottle of orange juice per person, and this box can be collected from the front desk for an early departure.

Bergen is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Bergen, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Bergen hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
