I loved staying here, although I moved to another hotel after staying here for three days. I wish I could stay here until the end of my trip. Excellent breakfast--$20 was so worth it to explore different food options, including a variety of breads, fruits, protein, fish, and soup. The room was spacious and clean. The bed and blackets were so comfortable that I couldn't get up quickly after I woke up. I stayed with my friend, and we both had large luggage, but the room still accommodated us. The staff service was great, and the hotel has many pleasant spaces on the lobby floor where you can sit, sip coffee, chat with friends, or even work.

Good location, friendly staff. Good breakfast but unfortunately no restaurants open in the hotel for lunch. Layout of the bathroom in the room was bad with no shower curtain or divider so water went everywhere — it wasn’t terrible but rather inconvenient. Our friends’ room next door had a shower enclosure but ours didn’t. When I mentioned it at the front desk they said to have extra towels at the ready. Also, the mattress had a foam cover and for people like me that means sweating all night and sleeping in an uncomfortable puddle.

OLD AND NOISY

Outdated room, no charge points, no visible power points (crawl under bed), inattentive none engaged staff. Our room was next to an external street light and the block out curtains did not cover the span of the windows. Worst of all during our stay the hotel booked a school group and they were running around the hallways until midnight. Because it’s an old building you could hear every noise.

Good location for ferries or small cruise ships

This hotel was fine, nothing stands out too much either way. The line to check in was lengthy and it took quite awhile to have them call for help. Also, they did not tell people that they needed to scan their room keys to use the elevator and many people were confused why it would not work. There was a small sign in the elevator but many guests were not Norwegian or did not speak English well and did not understand the sign. I, myself, had to explain to 4 guests how to get to their floors.

Great location, comfortable room and great breakfast! We were 8 to 12 minutes walk from the Fish Market, the Bryggen, the funicular, the Ferry Terminal and the airport tram. It was fun to be able to spot our mustard colored hotel from the top of the funicular. Breakfast was wonderful, with eggs, fresh fruit salad, green salad and veggies, a variety of breads as well as cheeses and meats and more. Our room was simple and clean. Would definitely stay again.

Why do you run a hotel like this?

I’m sorry but a lot of things need to change at this hotel. To begin with, I tried to call them more than 5 times before my arrival. Nobody picked up the phone. At my checkin, I mentioned that and they were very happy to tell me that they were busy. Wow! The room was not clean. I found one bitten cookie. They didn’t make room and the reception didn’t mention to us. Just one small paper in the room about it. Basically my feeling was terrible.
