"Lovely family-run hotel"
We stayed 2 nights in July in this lovely hotel . Beautiful pool and gardens, large comfortable rooms and good food. Beach 15 minutes' walk away and the stunning Greek temples close by. .Rita picked us up from the railway station at Paestum and her father dropped us back. We didn't have a car but for a longer stay you might need to have one to go further afield.

"Nice hotel, some staff excellent - others not so"
Nice comfy clean hotel. Location is remote from tourist areas so you need a hire car if you want to get around to see the sights. Also see past some of the less desirable areas you drive through to get to the hotel if travelling from Naples airport. Majority of staff were lovely. Always a cheery buongiorno from the house keeping staff in passing and the restaurant staff couldn't be nicer and more accommodating during breakfast service. Reception on the other hand were a mixed bag. The girls on check were miserable, rude and unhelpful. The chap at checkout was lovely and a real contrast to his colleagues. A number of weddings take place at the hotel. For the 10 days we were staying there were at least 6 or 7 weddings taking over the hotel. Sometimes it proved difficult to avoid the wedding guests when getting to your room from the pool or other outside areas. It also meant that car parking spaces were at a premium. We ate dinner in the restaurant one evening opting for the taster menu and associated wines. Pricey but well worth every penny as the food was to an excellent standard and the wines complimented perfectly.

"Designer apartment with three rooms at the center"
Fantastic! Hotel owner waited for me when arriving, handed the key to room, apartment and front door of building and left. My stay was completely autonomous and pleasant. The staff (2) prepared breakfast iin dining room each day, free to take whatever from fridge, Nespresso coffee maker, fruits, cakes. The owner is a professional photographer with many of his beautiful works exhibited on the walls. There are several photography books, the place is beautifully designed to the last detail. I met the owner over breakfast upon check out, paying cash and returning the key.

"Terrific small hotel close to the train station"
We very much enjoyed staying at this hotel. The location is fantastic -- right near the train station, and in an area packed with shops and restaurants. The old part of the city is a short walk away, and there is a lovely promenade along the seaside just a couple of blocks from the hotel. The hotel staff is very welcoming, and everyone speaks English. The rooms are not luxurious, but the beds are comfortable, the bathrooms are nicely appointed with spacious showers and lots of hot water, and the air conditioning works well. There are also ceiling fans over the beds. Everything was spotless. A very nice continental breakfast is served every morning, with lots of options including cereal, all sorts of breads, ham and cheese, juice, coffee, yogurt, etc. We were greeted by the owner on the second and third mornings of our stay. The staff bent over backwards to make sure our needs were met. With the train station just a few steps away, we were able to hop on one fo the frequent trains to Pompeii or Naples, and on our day of departure, we took a Frecciarossa train direct from Salerno to Venice. Highly recommended! I would definitely stay here again.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Altavilla Silentina hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
