In overall, this resort is a nice, highly recommended place to visit! But unfortunately, we had some issues. First, initially we didn't get the room, which we were asking for, placing the request during the booking. We requested the 2 double beds room (for 2 adults and 1 kid), on 2nd or 3rd floor. They prepared for us the room at 1st floor with 1 king size bed! So, we had to spend our time solving this problem. Unfortunately, looks like the staff don't pay attention to the customer's special requests. Second, we couldn’t enjoy French restaurant atmosphere, because we were not allowed to get in with 3 y. o. kid after 8 PM, but nobody let us know during the restaurant booking! We couldn’t rebook this restaurant, because it was our last evening in the resort. So, they placed us in Caribe restaurant, bringing food from French restaurant. It was kind of solution, but we are not happy with that. But again, in general, Barcelo Rivera Maya is a beautiful resort (any hotel in the resort). We will be back.

Unfortunately our stay started from the very bad service from the Spidy Shuttle, they took 2 hours to get us to the hotel. It was not our first time here and we know it should be an hour or so but not 2 hours. They raised prices high enough to give better service. The hotel was very nice, good service, great stuff, room was clean and spacious.

The beach is amazing. Water is calm. A lot of fishes and turtles you can see if you are snorkeling. The beach is about a mile long. A lot of people mention poor food. It is not very elaborate in buffet and pretty repetitive, but still more variable than I cook at home:)) restaurants are good too. I am pretty sure it is possible to find hotels with better food and alcohol, but I am pretty sure you have to pay a different price. For the price we payed the place is amazing.

Nice, clean spacious room, comfy bed, overall helpful stuff, nicely kept grounds. Drinks hit or miss, only restaurants bartenders give you drinks in a proper glass. Restaurant food very good considering you're in Mexico and staying at low budget resort. Beautiful pools, unbeatable snorkeling right of the beach.
