Hotel was okay. Hallways were hot and stuffy. At least the air in the rooms worked well. Shower was only very hot water and TV volume did not work in our room. No drinking water available in lobby or breakfast area.

My stay was two nights, housekeeping never made my bed on day two, didn’t replace or pick up used toweling, just emptied one garbage can so I know they were there, but that was it. No tidying the room or nothing. I used the tub and some how that set off the fire alarm in the whole hotel?? 😱 upon which staff showed up in my room telling me I need to use colder water and open the window all the way??? First of all I don’t use really hot water, but still…. What the heck????? The rooms are newly remodeled, but are full of paint and drywall drops all over the floor. Will definitely stay elsewhere next time 😵‍💫 Definitely one of my worst hotel stays 🙁

Checked in to a room with many things broken or inoperable. There was scotch tape holding up the dispensers in the shower, our phone had no cord, so was essentially for decoration. The top comforter on one bed was absolutely filthy, however I was charged for the cleaning of them. When I called to speak to a manager about the $75 charge, I was ignored and dismissed. The pool looks like the greatest attraction, but taking younger kids isn’t possible because it’s a free for all. There was about 15 unattended children at one point, with no rules being enforced. From check in to check out, HORRIBLE.

I stay in this hotel once a year when my business takes me to Wausau. It is a typical property for the AmericInn chain, essentially similar to a Days Inn or Comfort Inn. There are a number of decent restaurants on the immediate vicinity, and a few more about a quarter mile north in a couple strip malls. On my latest stay in May 2025, everything was pretty typical except there were tiny black flies in the room; I don't know what kind. They were a minor nuisance when one would fly in front of my face. I reported this on checkout, and the desk clerk said they had this problem with the same room in the past, and suggested that they would be taking action to remedy the situation.

If want to be passive and give the location the benefit if the doubt given how courteous everyone was, but also feel honest is important to allow for change. My bathroom had minimal bathroom tissue, the sink and shower had previous guest’s hair (not just one or two strands). Thankfully I was alone as only two small, thin towels were provided. Very dirty mirror. Sheets didn’t stay on bed. Room not “reset” or “picked up”, ironing board left out and presumably used bath mat left hanging on shower rod (new one left folded on bath rail)
