The hotel was well situated for a visit to the museums in D.C. and for wandering around the Georgetown area with its many restaurants and shores. The Foggy Bottom metro station was a short distance away and made it convenient to get to Old Town Alexandria etc. The public spaces in the hotel looked nice. However, our room on the first floow was not very clean looking with faded carpet etc. It was large and convenient but looked just ordinary. Also, you could hear the people speaking in the room above through the AC vent! (It was kind of funny as the sofa is right below the vent.) For a hotel that was not cheap, I would think they would provide toilet paper that was better quality than what you find at Motel 6. Also, they had an over-priced bottle of water in the room! And it looked like it had been sitting there for months. My suggestion for the hotel would be not to cut corners with little things like the toilet paper and water! There was a convenience store close by so we just purchased water there. Also, the hotel added a fee for using a credit card to pay for the room! Really? So, yes, a convenient location but not the best hotel I've stayed in in a while!

Great location. Rooms were big. Hotel staff was great. For the price. I'd stay elsewhere. Lots of kids unsupervised making noises late at night by the bar area.

The location was perfect for us as it was within walking distance of everything we did. There are so many dining options in the area as well. The only complaint I have were of other, loud guests at all hours of night, and that was a group of young adults that thankfully didn’t stay the entire time we did.

Arriving at the property was easy and welcoming. My friend and I showed up earlier than expected and they quickly accommodated our early arrival in stead of making is wait. You can tell the rooms have age but they are still in nice condition. Saturday night i to Sunday morning there was a large party of younger guest gathering between two rooms, drinking and having a very loud time waking us up and being very disrespectful of their noise level. This of course is no fault of the hotel as they can not filter out people that may act as such however they did respond quickly in person to the group multiple times until they discontinued their partying on. Definitely not the ideal situation as I was trying to sleep and not feeling well. I do appreciate the hotel staff not taking complaints about other guest behavior's lightly. Check out was easy and every person we interacted with was professional and warm.

Disappointing

The high points of this resort were the location because it was easy to walk to lots of key areas, and the lava cake we got at the bar even though it wasn’t on the menu. The “historical” element didn’t feel historical-it just felt aged. For example, there was no fan in the bathroom, and the paint on the doors was bubbling up and the wallpaper was peeling. Upon check-in, the man said I could only use a credit card, but the new system messed up, so my credit card had multiple incremental charges nightly in addition to the hold. When I went back to the front desk to ask about it, she told me I could switch to my debit card and they would remove the other card. The same thing happened again to BOTH cards, and finally the day after 30 minutes and the front desk to check out, everything was reimbursed and charged correctly. While in the lobby and elevator, many guests were complaining about similar issues. We went to get the free coffee from 7-11am on Sunday, but the coffee was empty, the trash was full, there were no cups, and there was almost no creamer left. When they finally brought coffee, they didn’t replace anything else, including the cups. The thermostat didn’t work correctly, so we had to keep our windows open when the room got warm and you could hear people yelling at each other in the court yard. Lots of small things really sucked. We were super disappointed in this hotel and it had fabulous reviews. I wish we would’ve stayed at the four seasons down the street!
The lava cake from the bar. Desserts aren’t on the menu so you have to ask!

The location was great. Trader Joe’s across the street-monuments and many sites were walking distance. If we were supposed to get special treatment it wasn’t evident. Maybe because they gave us a suite? The furniture was nicked and old, not painted recently and carpet very worn. We were informed we would only get cleaned once during a 5 day stay. Not ok. I tipped our cleaner and she came one extra time. Front desk was fine, generally courteous and helpful. There was nothing outstanding or special about the hotel, and price was similar to others in the general area. I would pick something different next time.

On check in damage deposit required and payment of not pre-paid historical preservation fee. That’s fine. However not communicated was a pending credit card lien for full room amount would occur despite it being pre-paid by Expedia! Be aware.

I liked that the room was very spacious and quiet. The large lobby is inviting. The morning coffee in the lobby was excellent. The staff was very friendly and responsive. Location near the Metro, a hospital, GW campus, Whole Foods was great. I would recommend a grab bar in the shower for safety and also more hooks and racks to hang towels. We were okay with not having maid service for the three days we were there as we could get whatever we needed such as extra soap and toilet paper. I don't know how the service staff feels about that cutback in service. I

GREAT LOCATION!!!!! Trader Joe’s,Whole Foods, Metro, restaurants all with in 3-5 minute walk. The hotel staff was great, especially Liz. It is a little noisy from street noise but it quiets down at night. The suite was so spacious. Very good for the price! We will stay here again if we ever go back to DC.

While the pricing reflects a premium experience, the level of hospitality and communication does not consistently align with these expectations. The staff's friendliness and helpfulness appear to vary based on the individual and the time of day. Additionally, it is important to note that the doors lock at a specific time for security rounds, but this information along with much more is not always clearly communicated. You however will be greeted by a woman who makes it her number one concern to tell you how to properly function a door as its 40 degrees at 1am and your keycard doesn't work.

The hotel was nice and quiet. The only struggle was the shower. We asked for it to be fixed but it wasn’t. Unsure if it was because of the gigantic filter on the water source but the pressure coming from the tub was fine.
