It is right on the shore of Lake Superior and only 15 minutes in Bayfield and the apostle Islands boat tours and Madeline Island ferry.

It is right on the Bay with lots of outdoor chairs and tables. It's also next to the marina. Only 15 minutes from the Bayfield boat tours and Madeline Island Ferry.

First time in Northern Wisconsin and hotel was fine for our two night stay 10 miles either way to Ashland or Bayfield. Quiet and not as many people as in the larger cities.

Was happy to find a room at this popular location during a busy end of summer season. Staff was friendly, the walk-in shower was new, and the sink and counter were clean. Fridge stayed cold, which was great. Downside: No elevator, and we were on the second floor. Expensive for what we got. Overall looked pretty run down. Old carpet throughout and the carpet in my room was visibly dirty (?forgot to vacuum). My bottom bed sheet had a quarter-size hole in it that looked like someone tried to darn or sew it. Same with the top sheet, but smaller holes..The bathroom fan made a horrible noise when I turned it on, so didn't use it. Bed was rather hard, but not awful. I might look harder for a different place next time.

Courteous, friendly, professional staff. Appears to have recently updated room bathroom/sink areas. Carpet and mattresses hopefully are next. Carpet on stairs should be replaced. Convenient location for our weekend plans.

We liked the location of the property. Right next to the water and a nice walking path. The air conditioner in the room was way too loud! It kept cycling on and off every few minutes even after I raised the temp on it. We ended up opening the window and turning it off. I noticed the light that indicated that the filter needed to be changed was illuminated. It was a bit musty smelling in the room. One of the beds creaked every time you moved on it. Good thing I always bring ear plugs with me.

We stayed for a quick night in the area. The property was clean, a little dated, but other than that we slept well. The check-in was easy the guy working was very personable. Unfortunately the nearby restaurant was closed on Sunday night, but that was our fault for not checking the hours for that. All in all, not a bad place to stay for the short term.

The furniture was stained; no paper or pencil/pen in room; lighting was poor, at best. No food, no vending that I could see. Office closes and nothing is available. Room was greatly overpriced. Will not stay there again, and would not recommend it to anyone.

The Washburn Inn did not have an elevator, so that is not ideal, but we liked everything else about it. Also no vending machine, but the area was beautiful, the price was fair, and it was a great place to stay near Bayfield and Ashland both. The staff was very friendly.

Room amenities needs an upgrade. There was no microwave, and kettle in the room and they don't provide those in rooms, but other than that beautiful location, very clean and hygienic rooms. KC at the reception Desk was excellent and very polite and helpful. Plenty of parking available and location is awe inspiring.
