The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The food served in their restaurant is excellent. The bathroom in the deluxe room was a bit odd in terms of how the toilet was set relative to the shower but it was fine. The location relative to the temples and the main ghats of the river Ganges is ok but definitely not close enough to walk in few minutes. However, the price is definitely way too high for the location, type of rooms and the service. The quality of the duvet cover and bed covers was not good. It looked like it had seen several years worth of use. No channels were available on the TV. Even after mentioning it to the receptionist, only few random channels were provided. Also, we were surprised to find our room not cleaned when we arrived back later in the day. When we mentioned this to the receptionist, we were told because we hadn't asked them for it and that we took the key with us and that if some item got lost we would blame the staff (fair given that there are unscrupulous people who do this fraud). But seriously! Every hotel has a master key. Secondly, they should have mentioned about the request for cleaning when we were checking in.

Hotel is quite basic for the rates charged. It requires updating and more 3 pin plug sockets. The location is perfect for prayers etc as it's by the river. The restaurant serves extremely nice veg food at a reasonable price.

Its was safe, family friendly and staff was exceptionally helpful to move around and support every way. Definitely recommend to other for a calm, blissful and peaceful stay. Neatness and water was an issue. The rooftop restaurant was good but missed to have the authentic Varanasi food.

From my wife who stayed there: I'm missing this hotel and its lovely staff and the kindness with which they took care of my family and I during our stay there from July 25 th through August 2nd. I feel I have a home here. The family rooms are spacious but they don't have any sunlight and the bathroom hooks are very high for average height people like me. WiFi worked better at 207. At 407 it was not so great at times. The safe didn't work at 207. Other than these I have to say it was a delightful stay. Fatima, Anshu and others at the reception and everyone above and beyond. Whether it was laundry, ordering room service, shopping for sarees, getting the fall and pico done (I will never forget the night manager who collected this from the tailor to bring it before I left the following morning), or any and everything I needed, they made it happen. Atul and Amar at the restaurant are two of the kindest people who are assigned to take care of your food orders. It's one thing to serve food, completely different thing to know they care if you're eating okay. Kishan, Ayush, and the other young men who were at our beck and call for any and everything delivered with a smile every single time. My brother and sister-in-law also visited from Singapore and loved it. My mother who lives in Varanasi and my daughter who is born and brought up in the US both felt equally at home. That says a lot about Shri Vinayak Hotel and its incredibly efficient team. Thank you. Until next time!
