Lots of Potential/Rustic=No AC/ Peaceful Lakeside

We booked our stay knowing that the cabin was rustic=no frills. It seems like there were 3 people who were trying to do everything from managing the property, cleaning,maintenance, mowing...way too much for auch a large property. We arrived early and waited to meet the manager who was assisting someone with a boat rental. Brian is a nice guy and he was very friendly and accommodating. The cabin was spacious but VERY dated with no AC which might not ordinarily be bad in the ADX but it was close to 90 that day with high humidity. The fans provided little relief. There were other larger units that might have AC but you will need to ask. My son had an asthma attack that evening because of dust and pollen which put a damper on things for the next day. That said, we had a great day prior hiking Ampersand Mt. (10min away), walking in thr village, and of course using the complimentary kayakas at the lake which was feet away from our cabin. The kayaks were available at the liento and we had access to them any time we wanted. It was quiet, peaceful, and about 5-10 min from Main St. Lots of potential but does need some updates before we can return.

Disappointed travelers w/ an emotional support cat

A little disappointing as the room setup/design. They knew we had a cat and gave us a room that the cat easily was able to hide under the bed to hide. The U shaped room easily scared her whenever someone entered the room cause she couldn't see them/us until we walked around the corner of the room. The bed wasn't blocked underneath so she could get under and we had to block the area to prevent her from getting under after dhe went there twice.

It's atrocious that I have to watch an ad to access Wi-Fi. I will not be staying at choice hotels again if this policy remains. If you're a light sleeper, bring earplugs. Hot tub was VERY toasty and clean also very very chlorine loaded. Staff is lovely and breakfast area was clean with many options. I switched to the Oneida mansion hotel and I'm much happier.

We only stayed 1 night but the hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming. Very clean and inviting. Room very clean and comfortable. We had our small dog with us and specifically chose this hotel because it was pet friendly. I thought the pet fee was exorbitant. Also, when I inquired about a pet relief area I was told to take him anywhere. On my way out in the morning I thought I saw a pet area. Probably a good idea to have a designated pet relief area for sanitary reasons. Husband enjoyed the breakfast.

We appreciated the atmosphere of the hotel entrance and pool areas. The dining area and food was highly commendable. The staff was across the board excellent!! Super friendly!! We did have an issue with regulating a hot water temp in the shower. Otherwise, all was amazing!

The room was nice, clean, and the bed was very comfortable. I like the free 24hr shuttle to the Turning Stone and back. The water for the shower never got warm. It got like warm for a short period and then very cold.
