I’ve stayed at the Carnegie Hotel several times, and each visit has been excellent. From the moment you arrive, the staff makes you feel welcome with their kindness and professionalism. The rooms are always spotless and well maintained, and the beds are truly exceptional — easily the most comfortable I’ve experienced at any hotel. I always wake up feeling rested and ready for the day, which says a lot about the quality of their accommodations. Another highlight is the hotel’s restaurant and bar. If you enjoy bourbon, this is a must-visit. They offer an impressive selection with something for every taste, and the pricing is very reasonable compared to what you’d expect elsewhere. It’s a great place to unwind after a long day or enjoy a relaxed evening without even leaving the property. While the Carnegie isn’t the cheapest hotel option, the overall experience makes it more than worth the price. The combination of friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms, and excellent dining options keeps me coming back time and time again. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a stay that balances comfort, service, and value.

Everything was great until 8am when the maid on our floor began their day. They constantly made lots of nose. Banging their cat into the walls slamming doors hitting the walls with the vacuum knocking on doors. This lasted 2.5 hours.

The entire hotel is outfitted with fascinating antiques and furniture pieces. The styling and decor is reminiscent of earlier times. Real wood entry door to the hotel with solid/heavy brass handles shaped as a bird's head. Great bar selection of whiskeys and cocktails, and very responsive staff. Southern charm at its finest. As Arnold would say, "I'll be back".

Very conveniently located for ETSU and getting to know the Johnson City area. Excellent on-site food plus others within walking distance. Nice glimpses of the mountains over the ETSU campus, from the sixth floor. The staff… ALL of them we encountered … were polite, cheerful, and very good at what they did. It was a great visit!

This is a stunning property in the old classical sense of dark paneling, interesting furnishings, beautiful bedrooms, brass fixtures, etc. Sleigh beds in the rooms, not just a headboard fastened to the wall! Truly elegant. The Wellington dining room and bar were great. HUGE selection of bourbons and interesting menu. Only faults were a noisy room due to traffic on the street outside...maybe better soundproofing windows in the future. And LIGHT!! The bathroom was very well lit and spacious but there was only ONE dim lamp on the bedside table. No overhead. Difficult to even pack or unpack! But we'd definitely stay again. Maybe bring our own lightbulbs. ; )

Staff were friendly, welcoming and accommodating. The room and pool were very clean. The parking was perfect, with many spots available in the covered parking garage. The kids thought having a shower and tub in the bathroom was really cool. We would definitely book here again.
