"Lovely Hotel"
Unforutunately I didnt arrive at the hotel in time to sample the spa or the restaurant, which was a bummer. I arrived at 21:15 the exact time admission ended. Was able to eat at in The Lounge though and food was hot but small proportions for cost. However over all i had a good nights sleep and the staff where very welcoming and helpful.

"Under Construction"
Arrival at hotel was quite deceptive, There is no sign of revamping from car park, Once greeted at reception you would think you have made a mistake and turned up at wrong hotel. Xona ( Johna) The Gentleman on duty is very professional, happy to be there and greet, sort all issues out with a smile and quickly. Other staff members seemed very happy to help, no trouble to make sure you are happy with your stay. The entire reception is a construction site, there is dust sheets hanging up parts of the floor is not complete, Reception very warm. Once shown to my room I was very surprised as i had to walk down one corridor with construction workers busy revamping rooms, debris every ware .... ( Suggestion to Hotel get a labourer there with hoover to clear the floor every half hour) Once in my room you would never know there are workman on site. top quality finish in all areas in the room and on a very hot day the air conditioning is a blessing YES REAL A/C ! The one night stay was very comfortable, huge TV, comfortable beds, pillows are a bit naff. great shower. Breakfast ! well here is a mine field ! They had a coach full of pensioners ..... something like the invasion of last of the summer wine ! Why do old people have to be so rude! well that is not the hotels fault just added in due to experience, The buffet breakfast was ready way before 7am,The food was left in Serving tins under hot lamps left to dry out. The food was cold and you could see the oil, Not good.

"Great location but very dated "
We stayed for one night at the Forbury so we could be bright and early to attend daughters graduation ceremony. Hotel was is a great location right next to Carluccios and a couple of minutes from the Oracle. It's a great looking building from the front too - and from the courtyard. Lovely architecture. The staff were great but as for being 5 star, well it might have been once upon a time. We stayed in one of the apartments which was huge and there were only the two of us. Two bedrooms with ensuites and a separate cloakroom. It also had a huge lounge and kitchen - though we couldn't fathom out how to get a picture on the TV!! Think that may have been user error!!! Rooms were good and sort of clean but carpets were badly marked in places making them look dirty and tiles in bathroom were stained. The area by the lifts as well as the lifts themselves could probably benefit from a refurb. Kitchen was pretty spotless. We had to walk from reception to the apartments which were at the back and we went down a staircase by the kitchen where the carpet looked like something Mum had in her house in the 70's and while nothing wrong with a bit of retro it did have a bit of a bad foody sort of smell as you walked there. It did lead to a lovely courtyard garden. Shame but we never had time to try it out. I'd stay there again but if you are looking for 5 star this maybe isn't the one.

"Beautiful Hotel with outstanding reception staff"
Absolutely stunning hotel and grounds. I stayed in the clocktower suite (room 17) and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. The check in was fast and the staff behind the desk excellent. Very friendly and professional.

"Superb surroundings for a restful break."
First impressions of a room supposed to be a bit better than the standard was disappointing. It was dingy without the dull light on and one bed side lampshade was awry and could not be straightened. The balcony outside of the netted French windows was so dirty it could not have been used even if the weather was conducive enough to use it. The bed was large and very comfortable and the room well appointed including a large TV. The en suit Bathroom was spacious and clean but only one set of towels was visible until it was pointed out on enquiry that a second set was in plastic bag in a wardrobe, why ? The limited menu was not enough to satisfy a visitor who untended to stay for more than two nights. The Orangery restaurant was excellent due to the beautiful view of the trees, lawn, cows in the field and the hills to the South over the valley. The staff were excelent !

"Nice hotel in a quiet town"
The hotel experience was pleasant and my partner and I really enjoyed our stay there. We feel that the hotel was value for money. The decor was modern and clean. The room was spacious, clean and its bathroom was large with a bath tub and separate shower enclosure.Only downside was when we entered the room, it had a musky smell, that was quickly rectified with the window opened and a little perfume. The bed was quite firm and after spending two nights our backs been to hurt a bit. The bar was very cosy and the selection of drinks were averaged with no options of a cocktail. The hotel's spa facilities were nice and we decided to have a full body massage at the end of our stay and it quickly made us forget about the firm bed. The staff were professional and friendly and made our stay accommodating and relaxed. The food was great as we were left feeling spoilt for choice given a selection for breakfast which was tasty. Overall, the hotel was a great place for a quick getaway and I would recommend this hotel and would definitely visit again in the future.

Thatcham is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Thatcham, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Thatcham hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
