Be advised

Chose day of for a 1 nite stay. Looked ok in pics on app for a standard king. Got to room behind building up wooden stairs and was oldest outdated dark 1950s bad mojo vibe. Went back to desk asked nicely if there were any options. Front desk gave me a nicer modern room without any hassle. Suspect 3rd party apps like hotels.com get the worst rooms for the rate. Be advised.

Poor Management!

This is our second stay with Sagebrush. This hotel has such potential, but management has forgotten to care for it. The staff does their best to work with what they have and it shows from their frustration in all areas of not having good management.

Diamond in the rough - Great customer service.

I've stayed here a few times now, and it's clear that the new management is attempting to get this historic property back in order, which is not mean feat. It's clear it was neglected for some time. Personally I love the vibe of the rooms in the detached buildings. I have stayed in both at this point. If you look hard you will surely find some spots where a little more love is still needed, but ultimately I will choose a little bit of character over something bland every time. The staff were very friendly, and even helped me out with a late check out and with storing some items while I took care of some business in Taos - Big Thank you for that!! I'll be back for another stay next time I am through Taos.

The bad: Dinning area for breakfast was heavily understaffed. 1 waitress running around trying to tend everyone is not fair to her or the customers. Comforter on one of the beds was stained. The Good: The old style room was very cool and charming which made for a cool experience. The sunset behind the property was beautiful. The staff is very friendly.

Use caution...

Historically, we have stayed at Sagebrush Hotel and were pleased in the past. Sadly, it appears that there were either management changes or owner oversight neglect. Out of the seven service desk attendants over the four day stay, the two at checkin were kind, considerate, and genuinely cared about our needs/concerns. The remaining five were rude and annoyed with our requests for assistance. In the original room, there were no bath towels, wifi did not work, and our tiny television was broken. The plus was that we did receive an upgraded room which was bigger but did not have seperate bedrooms as the originally reserved room. The pool was filthy and the hottub jets did not work for the entire stay. We paid close to $1000 for this stay. Will be the last time at Sagebrush Hotel.

Very nice historical property in Taos. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The property was clean and very quiet. I was traveling with my dog, and the property was very pet friendly with an easily accessible court yard with bags and trash cans for you to pick up after your pet.

Beautiful setting, Northern New Mexico architecture which is neat. We knew it was in older establishment but the carpet in the room we were in was pretty nasty and the refrigerator was so loud when it was running. We would definitely not stay here again.

Staff were great, property was beautiful, pet friendly, and we love the southwest design. My only feedback would be to update the TV and change out the bathroom vanities and some of the furniture. (it's not because they're old but they're falling apart they looked ragged). Otherwise, we loved it!

Great hotel, even greater restaurant! Lots of character in the older building. The hallway carpet has seen better days and the hotel still has a n older version of keycard entry but we’ll be staying there again on our next visit to Taos!

Bathroom had towels on the floor from the prior stay. The sink faucet needs replacing. Walls in the bathroom had stains that we didn't want to know what it was. The shower faucet is coming out of the wall and the hot/cold water are backwards.Too many issues to list here.

Bed was comfortable but nothing fancy . Dead bolt lock didn’t work and door didn’t close good . Not enough ice machines and vending machine almost empty . Pool was extremely cold and full of bugs and only 1 jet worked on hot tub . Painting balconies above our room so had to be careful.
