I stayed here at this hotel after a trip to alton towers, When arriving there was a big school prom on which meant we had to park in the overflow carpark and try to squeeze through the prom guests - which wasn't ideal - it would of been nice to have a pre warning from the hotel. I booked a room with 2 queen size beds, we was welcomed at reception at check in by a lovely lady, we was made aware that there is no air con but they have provided 2 fans for us. I really expected a hilton to have air con, the room was boiling, we opened windows and put fans on it did cool down a little bit but when checking it doesn't state online that it does have air con. We used the pool before dinner- we pre-booked our slot due to receiving an email from the hotel prior saying we needed to. Unfortunately the sauna was out of order, but the steam room was ok. We had dinner in the bar lounge, we ordered at the bar and the food was nice, we had a burger and chips and a chicken Caesar salad - I thought it was fairly priced due to it being a hotel. We also had breakfast with our room, we was greeted and sat down by a gentleman - there was looks to choose from, cooked breakfast, pastries, cereal, yoghurt, toast the only downside was i had to ask for the orange juice to be topped up twice. overall it was an ok stay.

There was no air conditioning in the room, the room was far too hot meaning it was not suitable for getting young kids to sleep - pretty stressful stay 😞

Decent option in Stoke with car park

Decent enough hotel with relatively modern features and generous car park. Stayed for one night. Service was so n so. Lacked the enthusiasm in providing details about the hotels, offerings and even breakfast. Instead you are handed a one page flyer. No real effort made on check out to ask about the stay. Suspect this level of service is the norm as experienced it on check in and check out. Totally unlike other Doubletrees where I have stayed.

Great nights sleep

Lady who checked us in was really helpful, nothing was too much trouble even though she was really busy. Restaurant staff were welcoming and friendly. There was a long gap between our starter and getting our main meal which was the only downside. We had to ask for the child’s meal to be brought as it was getting quite late. Food was hot and tasty when it was eventually served. Booking a slot in the pool was easy. Our room was clean, well stocked with toiletries, tea and coffee and the beds were very comfy. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would book again.

Staff were very helpful and friendly, especially the team at Josiah's Brasserie. Sofa beds in the family room were not particularly great for older children. If we were to return we would elect for interconnecting rooms instead of a family room.
