What a lovely hotel. I had wanted to stay at the Pioneer Woman’s Boarding House, but they are always booked up. This was the next logical choice. What a happy surprise. The price was comparable. The rooms were rustic and quaint, and incredibly spacious. The beds are comfortable. It is very clean. They have shampoo and body lotion, the only thing I wish they had included was a little bottle of conditioner. But all of it was otherwise super nice. I will definitely come back.

We may be more particular than most people. In our room (402), the door to the balcony needs repaired as is hard to open & the shower nozzle needs replaced. Cleaning of the room was just okay/not excellent. Pool area was beautiful & Doc’s was a nice amenity. We were particularly disappointed in the Summit Restaurant, which has excellent service but the food quality was lacking. Everything was heavily over-peppered. Overall Shanghai-La Resort is a beautiful facility in a gorgeous location. We just maybe expected a little higher standard in our room.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful art deco decor. Close to everything needed in downtown. Quiet at night. Comfortable bed. Great view outside our corner room.
