Excellent breakfast from 4am, great location

Incredibly convenient hotel to travel from Stansted Airport. The cooked and continental breakfast buffet from 4am was brilliant. We can understand why other reviews mention visiting purely for the breakfast. It is a quiet calm start to a day of travelling with welcoming, efficient and attentive staff. Good facilities include a vending machine for all the useful small items you might have forgotten such as phone chargers, suitcase padlocks, teddy bears and card games. The flight departure board in reception is very helpful. The only things that would have made our stay even better were a choice of pillows in our room and the sofa bed was quite small - keep this in mind if you have tweens or teenagers.

The hotel itself was superb but the walkway to it wasn’t as easy as described, dark and rerouted out of the shelter for works in progress. The directions weren’t easy to find. But the hotel itself was great and no complaints. Staff were helpful and friendly, breakfast was good.

The hotel itself is lovely, bar area and included breakfast brilliant choice. However the family room is not as described. It’s a normal double room with a small sofa bed. If you have 2 kids older than 8, you won’t fit. Whilst the sofa bed is comfortable it’s a large single at best. Also when out there is no room for suitcases anywhere as no floor space. Making it really difficult for 4 people to get ready at 5am.

Poor tea tray selection let this hotel down

Not the greatest start to our holiday. The hotel was alright, but the tea tray offer in room was very poor. 2 sachets of black tea only, no herbal tea or decaffeinated choice. I checked in late and had to stay awake to collect my friend from the Airport, who flew in at 1pm to join me at the hotel so we could fly on holiday together the following morning. So I drank both sachets before midnight before I went to collect her. When we both arrived back at the hotel, I asked a receptionist if I can pick few extra tea sachets from the bar to take to our room with me, but he said no and that they will bring them up to my room instead. After waiting for 30 minutes we gave up and went to sleep. Shame, we both wanted to have a nice cup of tea after long hours travelling to the Airport hotel. We had what’s up texts saying to let the hotel know if we need anything, but when we asked for one small thing - the hotel could not provide. We are flying back to Luton in few days and booked to stay in the Hilton by Hampton at Luton Airport. I wonder if their tea tray selection will be any better?

Conveniently situated next to the airport. Nice surprise was the included buffet breakfast. My partner is celiac so the gluten free bread and dedicated toaster was a welcome bonus. Only draw back, our tap in the room looked dirty.
