The grounds, lobby and breakfast cafe were all lovely. The room was another story. The room was humid (moist) and cool. The a/c unit emitted a weird smell, so we turned it off for our entire stay. The carpet was sticky in places, wrinkled and worn throughout, and badly stained just inside the door. Extremely disappointing.

Decent stop on a long road trip

Enjoy our 1 night stay. Bed was comfortable and the room was clean, only complaint was the “pet floor” (aka the 5th floor) has a funky smell to it. Perhaps use to be a smoking floor when that was thing, but it musty and mildew smelling.

First room reeked of marijuana, but front desk apologized and moved us to another room. Nearly fell getting out of the bathtub. Really need to have some type of anti slip in the tub. Bed was great. Breakfast had a lot of choices.

I booked a last minute stay at this property thru Expedia. Once booked, I realized that I had booked for the following evening (thank you Expedia calendar for not making the current evening an option). Upon discovering this mistake (less than an hour after making the reservation), I requested cancellation of the reservation. Expedia says they requested the cancellation but the property would not respect this request. I am guessing that having the small amount of revenue my reservation generated them is worth me absolutely avoiding them every time in the future I may need a room in St Charles. Congrats Best Western! You'll never receive a dollar from me again!
