This used to be one of the best hotels in Springfield. It has really gone downhill. No real breakfast anymore. Bar is barely open. Everything is worn out including the staff who seem beaten down. They say that there's new management that is running the place on a shoestring. The only thing that it has going for it is the location and free parking.

After reading recent reviews of this hotel, I was hesitant about staying but took the chance. When we checked in, there were no other guests at the hotel from what we could tell. We felt more like we were intruding when we first walked in and rarely came across anyone at the front desk. The rooms were updated, could have been cleaner but were not bad, no breakfast that I was aware of. Later on the first night, there seemed to be people on our floor in nearby rooms, had some noisy children but this is normal for hotels so wasn’t an issue for us. This became an issue the second night when people were running up and down the hallway, having loud conversations, and clearly smoking weed despite the no smoking policy of the hotel. Multiple times through the night, they would knock loudly on our door and run away. Just very childish and rude behavior to do to strangers. Calling the desk felt pointless, since it seemed like the employees might have known the people-we had seen them conversing and hanging out together when we did see someone in the lobby. We felt saying something would make it worse and just tried to get some sleep, they eventually stopped around 3am. Checking out was just drop the key off and leave as the desk person didn’t say or ask anything else. This is all such a shame as this hotel is right in the heart of the city, walking distance from Lincoln sites and the Capital bldg. Will not stay here ever again until drastic changes are made or management steps up.

Staff were friendly and hotel was nice.

The hotel is excellent for those traveling to visit the state Capitol as it is not a block away. The front staff was so friendly and attentive. She answered every question I have and provided excellent service. Although it was an in and out trip. I enjoyed our short stay.

room wasn't ready. Whole Lobby filled with people, staff were literally hiding. My room had peeling paint all over the ceiling. Hallways were dirty. Just a mess of a stay!

There is no refrigerator's in the rooms, there is no vending machines anywhere in the building, the air conditioner did not work in our room had it set at 46 and still hot in there. needs to be remodeled desperately.

Check in time 3pm, I arrive 9:20pm. Did not receive my key until 10:30 because the room wasn’t ready. I was given a card and asked to wait 10 more minutes. Finally head up and the room I was assigned was not livable- the maids said the room should not be allowed to be rented bc it is moldy. They switched me to another room. I couldn’t stay there as it was too heavy on chemicals. Switched to a third room and decided to take it because it was their last two rooms. No one came back to bring me the new key to my room and the phone was not sanitary to use, but also there was no office number listed so I tried to call the hotel- but no one answered. I went downstairs to get the new key and saw a customer very upset over having arrived after me close to 11pm and his room was given away! They didn’t have any rooms left for him! I didn’t get my room reservation for a king bed either.

They gave us a room that was already occupied. It took 20 minutes to “find us an alternate room” while they ignored me and several other patrons waiting at the front desk. The room was clean, but had no air. Staff said most rooms air are currently “in service” and they could move us rooms…but we’ve already played that game. No restaurant open, so no breakfast either. Not even a vending machine in operation. It was one block from the Capitol Building which is why we stayed there.

My room thermostat did not work so I could not control the temperature in my room. There was a simple take along breakfast promised in the email, and nothing was provided. There was no apology or explanation for this either. It's a nice hotel, very clean, but there was confusion when we checked in, because one of the rooms couldn't be found in the reservation of three rooms. It just seemed a little disorganized and unprepared for people.

Trust the reviews! I was hoping that the hotel had improved since reading all the negative reviews, but thats not the case. There was no working thermostat in the room. So one night we were sweating and the next night freezing. They sent up “maintenance” to look at the thermostat- someone knocked on the door wearing a backwards hat and sweatsuit! I was terrified to let him into the room to check it out! He the said “aww man this thing is broke and i aint gonna be able to fix this.” I asked if we could move rooms or have a fan and he said to call the front desk again. I called the desk 15 times with no answer and went down there - no one was around. Then the breakfast situation!! We only stay places that have breakfast available. Well let me tell you… i was very surprised to get an email from the hotel stating, “ due to renovations and improvements that breakfast and housekeeping is limited.” I asked when i checked in where breakfast would be and was told, “down the hall from 7-10am”. I went down each morning between these hours and breakfast was no were to be found! In fact no one was at the desk anytime between these hours to ask where the breakfast could be found! If your looking for location then thats the only good thing your going to get from this hotel.

Horrible. Will not stay again! Ruined my trip!

Horrible stay at this hotel. Failed to find my reservation online, made me wait for extended periods of time to resolve my room issue. Blamed me for my reservation not showing up.. multiple times even when shown proof. Gave us a subpar room that hadn’t been properly cleaned. After multiple failed attempts, on key cards that did not work.. (7 tries) I did not have access to my room due to the “key card” not working. Multiple trips up/downstairs to request new keys… eventually, had to request for the front desk attendant to open our door EACH time we wanted to enter our room with a “master key” on hand. One attendant.. said she was not left with a key so we had to wait for the manager to come and open the door for us. Again.. another extend waiting period. Staff also had their boyfriend with her as she attempted to open the door to my room. Unknowingly, we stopped her from her smoke break outside because we needed assistance…. To enter our room because NO KEYS worked!!!! Just a horrible experience.. the hotel is now downhill since a previous stay I had precovid. Hate this for them but even more so that I had to experience this. Let before checkout time because I was just over it.

The room was uncomfortably hot. Corporate must control the thermostat, rather than the actual person who rents the room. Neither us or our friends could get the thermostat to cool our rooms. There were no vending machines to buy drinks or snacks, nothing to buy for breakfast and the coffee was cold. We paid far too much for what we got. Front desk woman was sitting in her car smoking when we walked into the hotel to check in and after about 5 minutes the housekeeper had to go get her to check us in. Ridiculous.
