The staff was great. Professional and welcoming. The room was not what I ordered. I reserved a two queen bed and was given a two full bed room. I didn't ask to be moved since we were exhausted from a very long drive and needed a nap. We survived, but I'll be sure to pay more attention next time. :)

Reason for 4 stars was the wait to check in. We arriavied at exactly 4pm on Friday to check-in. It took over 1 hour to actually check-in. There was only one receptionist checking people in and she had a line of about 8 people. The receptionist was great and was working as quickly as she could. However this was obviously a poor management issue. That was very disappointing. Everything else was great. Clean room, great staff, awesome bar tender.

Checking in was a nightmare. The girl at the desk was on her phone instead of taking care of customers. There was a long line out the door. The room is so outdated shower was clogged. Also they charge you a resort fee. had to reset my card key.

The hotel recently added a 75$ Security deposit fee, I am still waiting to see if mine has been reimbursed back to me. They are also added a $10 daily resort fee and they charge these 2 fees separately when you check in. The staff at the front desk is rude, snarky and as unhelpful as they can be. The key cards for the room doors do not work, you have to ask repeatedly for them to replace or reprogram you key.

The room was nice and clean. The AC unit we had was a bit loud. Also i feel like there should be no dogs allowed just cause we can hear them barking non stop even when they on the other side of the hotel. Overall 8/10 stay and will continue to go.

It didn't say online but if you were wondering like me, the hotel room does have a microwave and mini fridge and there is an icemaker on premises also, those are my main things I need. Also the first floor units have their own exits to outside and the pool. Hotel was clean and nice and finally a hotel with real breakfast like sausage, eggs, waffles and a fresh made omelet with toppings of your choice. Will definitely keep this place in mind for future vacays.

Pro's: SUPER close to the beach for constant access and ease of running back and forth when you forget something in the room. Pool was super warm & actually enjoyable to be in! The pool side restaurant had descent food & was way cheaper than I expected. Even though there was some construction going on, the grounds were very clean and most staff was friendly. Also, soo many extremely well behaved dogs! We loved to see them and they were all very quiet :) Con's: After checking in and getting the room keys it was an adventure to find the elevator (on day 2 we learned there were actually 2 elevators & how to get to the pool easily) - signage was poor, hope you like wandering! Grab pool towels by the front desk if you see them (it took awhile to realize where the pool towels even were!)... but, they were always gone, so glad I brought towels from home for my kids! Our balcony door was jammed shut, they came on day 2 to open it for us, didn't show up on day 1. Sleeper sofa had no linen, waited 2 hours and ended up going to get the linen instead, after everyone was in bed with lights out... then the sheets showed up, better late than never? Lastly, caution with the room water temp! Bathroom faucet was adjustable but the shower was excessively hot or scalding... there was no cold/cool/warm/typical shower water... one of my kids never showered the entire time we were there because the water was too hot - he did washcloth wipe downs with sink water...

They were way under. Staffed long lines.for information, very little English workers, work being done in hallways very inconsistent especially on dining 4th floor. Breakfast was same everyday not very good either didn't have caffeine coffee anywhere especially in our room jet tub was way to high to get into and no non slip strips Found bug crawling across bathroom counter. Pillows were awful and just very disappointed With all the research I did on hotel packages with flights I definitely not only was there some false advertisement but I definitely made the wrong decision for the money we paid

The room and view was great. I didn’t have much interaction with staff. We did leave an expensive pair of tennis shoes, we called and they wasn’t found in the room. Ugh. The beach was great!

The problems began with an excessively long check-in process. After finally getting our room keys, they repeatedly stopped working. During a two-day stay, we had to have the keys reactivated three times, and maintenance had to come to our door to fix the lock so that the new keys would work. When we first entered the room, we noticed that the bottom of the shower had not been cleaned. There was black hair around the drain and on the floor of the shower. I went to the front desk to report this, and they notified the cleaning staff. However, all the staff member initially did was spray Lysol. It was only after I specifically pointed out the hair on the shower floor that she wiped it up with a towel, but she did not use any disinfectant or cleaner in the shower. Because of this, I ended up spending $35 on cleaning supplies to properly clean the bathroom, bathtub, and surfaces in the room myself. When I messaged the front desk again about my concerns, I received no response. Additionally, when checking the beds, we found that one of them had a blanket with faint yellow stains. I took a photo and showed it to the front desk, but I was told they could not see the stains, although they did agree to send extra bedding to the room. We also hung the “Do Not Disturb” sign on our door because we did not want housekeeping or anyone else to enter the room. Despite this housekeeping still knocked and CAME IN the room.

We have stayed here before and we will be back. Room 320 had a decent view and the AC worked great. Easy parking and the breakfast was good. It was conveniently located and we had no issues. They’re doing upgrades on the 4th floor, hopefully they will finish the whole hotel by summer.

I travel to the island once or twice monthly for business. Sand Rose is my go-to stay, especially during the off-season when the sub $100 nightly rate fits my corporate travel budget. While not the least expensive room, certainly the best value on the island. After dozens of stays over the years, I’ve never seen a roach. Rooms are always clean. The included breakfast is top notch…I always look forward to it! Great amenities on site, but very well located between Clayton’s Beach Bar (largest in Texas), the Marriott, and the Hilton, giving lots of walkable options for dining and drinks.

Nice hotel and room was clean. There is only a sheet and very thin blanket on bed. No linens for the hide a bed, went to front desk and were told house keeping does not leave extra linens for front desk staff. Heat did not work in our room or my parents room.
