"Unexpected room upgrade"
We checked into the room on a Sunday eve, and they actually upgraded our room from one with a queen bed and no view, to a room with a huge balcony, king sized bed, oceanview! It was an amazing surprise. We saw the most amazing views of the ocean, nd could see the surf/waved crash on the beach. The sunsets were amazing. The only downside was that one the 2nd day, the people below us smoked every hour or so, and the smoke drifted into our room, and we could not leave our door/window open for the freeze sea breeze, as a result, nor go on our deck without breathing in massive amounts of 2nd hand smoke. So frickin' rude. For some reason, our room was not serviced by housekeeping either, during our 2 night stay-- never figured out why. So needless to say, we enjoyed the upgrades the first day, not so much the 2nd day.

"Pleasantly pleased. "
We check in on a Sunday, we were happily surprised that the room came with a kitchenette. From our room we had a decent view of the ocean and a short hike to the beach, the grounds were beautiful and unique. We were very comfortable and happy to be out of the heat in Medford. The room was very affordable for this time of year (August) so we are looking forward to coming back to Gold Beach Inn many more times.

"Decent with great views"
Great view of the Rogue River. Older hotel that could use a few upgrades. The appliances, counters and cupboards are very old in the kitchenette and have built up grime from use over the years. The beds were okay, but the linens were threadbare and itchy. Pets are allowed and we had our dog. Unfortunately our "pets allowed" room smelled like dog. The carpet had quite a few pee stains. Nice big areas to take your pet out to. Nice shower. The breakfast consisted of pastries and oatmeal. The staff was amazing and makes those little issues with the rooms very small in my opinion. For the price, it's hard to complain very much.

Super 8 Coos Bay/North Bend

This was just a quick overnighter on our way from Seattle down the 101 to San Francisco. We got there at 8:30pm and left the next morning at 7:30am. We are a family of 5 and Expedia allowed me to book a room here...but when we arrived there were just two double beds with nothing else like a couch pull-out or something. We asked for a roll-away but they only had two for the entire hotel and both were already in use. So they upgraded us to a bigger "suite" that still only had two beds, but queen size instead of double. I thought that was very kind and helpful of them. The room was very nice, even if the carpet was stained in multiple places. It had two stuffed armchairs with ottomans, so we made a makeshift bed for my 9-year old out of one of the chairs and the two ottomans with the extra blankets and pillow already provided in the closet. It ended up working very well and my kiddos really enjoyed staying there. The breakfast was skimpy, but adequate. Altogether, we were happy with our stay and would stay again.

The motel was alright. The owners had recently bought it and are currently trying to fix it up. I think once they get the work done it's going to be a decent place to stay on the coast.

"Older style homely motel"
We had a King room, which was across the road from main building. Very old building, but clean and comfortable bed. Paper thin walls, so do be aware lady and her dog live in room beside King room, which smelt heavily if incense.

"Quaint interior, no frills, nice basic room"
We found the room to be very basic, TV, Microwave, and fridge/freezer. It was not equipped with A/C and had a Cadet wall heater. Everything worked with no problems. The wood ceilings reminded us of rooms we rented in the 1980's. We would not hesitate to stay there again. Food establishments are within easy walking distance.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your South Oregon Coast hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
