Extremely dirty and bad hygiene. I checked out immediately after I stayed at the room for 5mins. without conditionally refund from hotel. The room image is totally different as it’s realistic condition.

It was a great hotel, but its a bit sad now.

My bed was lumpy, stairs a bit tatty, with worn carpet. Room was clean and towles white and fluffy. Water was hot. Tea and coffee on hand. I didn't ask aboit food, ut read the dinning ro was closed, so you need to ask , parking an a first come first served behind the hotel staff frendly day and night.

Atmospheric, but could have been better

Location and ambience are great, and on-site parking always a plus. Disappointed that you have closed your kitchen, so no breakfast, and the plumbing is third-world. The worst part was the horrendously squeaky bed! This needs attention. I suspect the Hotel is now fighting a losing battle with the passing years, so go there while you still can.

Pleasant 1-night stay. Our check-in time was 3.00pm but staff at reception agreed to mind our baggage 2 hours earlier enabling us to head off early for a trip to Ludlow.

I didn't like the stay at all. Staff were very friendly and helpful but that was it. Bed was awful and there were no facilities at all. Would never recommend anyone to stay there.

Good value for money

So this is an old building that hasn’t been refurbished any time recently but everything works, it was clean and had all we needed. For the price it was good value for money, less than 10 mins walk from the station. Plenty of history inside and staff were lovely. Shower was decent, WiFi worked fine.

Great location right in centre of town. Hotel itself is in major need of a refurb. Very dated and no food or drink available. Our room was extremely noise as it faced the road. Traffic noise and moving the bins at 7am woke us up.

It simply is no longer a full service hotel and is only staffed to a bedroom booking only level. The Expedia site did not make this clear at any time.No meal service including hot drinks or breakfast. A bar in name only,no bar staff. The rotating front dek staff were as helpful as they could be,especially Sebastian, but we should have been aware tgat yhe oroperty was on care and maintenance only. A pity,as the location was super and the ancient property itself must have been fantastic when it was operational.

Our stay was okay. The hotel seemed a bit run down. No breakfast available. Room was clean, both bed and bathroom. An old building so no lifts. Hotel is in ideal place to explore the centre of Shrewsbury. Value for money on a centrally located hotel.
