I would give this place a below zero rating if I could. The property was very poor, the room was dirt as the doors all had black marks on them, no place to hang clothes, no trash cans. The exhaust in the bathroom was very dirty and had no cover and the ceiling in several places had pieces coming down. The bed by the door was right up against the air conditioner. It was just totally awful and I would NOT let anyone stay there. Also when we told the person at the front desk about not having a trash can in our room he just laughed, and the only thing Expedia would do is give us a $50 credit. Not recommended!!

Liked the location of the property and how old the property was being over one hundred years old. The building is beautiful inside but there definitely is some wear showing in places just because of how old it is. The room was very quiet didnt hear really anything except sirens most likely coming from a fire department close by. The concierge was very friendly and answered any questions I did have. The bed was really comfortable as well. Would definitely stay here again when in the area.

Room was clean, but for the amount you are paying there are better (half the cost and offer free hot breakfast for guests, which you do not get at Ameristar, nor room service) options right in the same parking lot. Parking for the hotel is hit and miss, be prepared for a little walk because you rarely find close parking. I've stayed at the Ameristar in Kansas City Mo and expected this to be the same, unfortunately the smell of cigarettes follows ypu to your room even if you didnt go into the casino (we did not visit the casino and still smelled like it). Food options are good, just need more, and 2 sprots bar type of food places is a little much when you only offer 4 restaurants.
