Recent rooms refurbishment has been carried out to a very good standard. Rooms are a good size, clean and comfortable. Hotel is in easy walking distance of the city centre.

Staff were friendly, bed was comfortable, the room was quiet and breakfast was excellent. Parking was easy and location central. However there were a few issues that reduced my overall comfort and enjoyment. Firstly, there was no big, central light, just dim lamps. In this half-light, the room appeared clean but then we found litter from a previous guest in a drawer. But the worst thing was the shower, which was obviously blocked and flooded our bathroom. Staff said it was a ‘big job’ to remove the shower plug cover to clear any blockage and offered us a room change instead! Why would a hotel have difficult to remove/clean shower plugs? This made me question how thorough the daily clean must be. We declined the room change as we were leaving the next day. The pool was nice, but the steam room was grotty and in need of an update. I expect better than this for the price.

Nice new rooms, lighting too low, lovely gym

The rooms are lovely after the refurb. However I found the lighting very low. There was no main light. They're trying to create a mood lighting room. I would have liked the option for a main light. No AC! The electric heater was too small for the large room. The gym looks brand new. Well equipped and a good place to train. The pool and steam room have seen better days. The food menu seemed a little pricey to me. Overall, nice improvements and I would stay again at the right price.

Excellent hotel choice for Sheffield centre

Very nice overnight stay. Quick check in, friendly staff member. When the room I was allocated wasn't the same as the one booked it was changed quickly and efficiently, again friendly helpful staff. Room itself was spacious, great bathroom. Main lighting could be improved. Leisure facilities great and glad we used them. Very nice gym, pool also a good space. Showers in need of an update. Only negative of the stay was how loud the lift arrival noise was, could be heard inside our room and we were five doors down the corridor.

Not very disability friendly.

Was quite average. Only issues we had was that all the disability cords where zip tied so high they weren't reachable, even when stood up. The bathroom also didnt have a lot of space to get in and out of the shower, which would have made transfering from wheelchair to ahower seat almost impossible. The lastcthing is that the fire alarms when off regularly on our last morning, which caused a big sensory overload for my autistic partner.
