Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
The “Not so Magnificent International Hotel” last had its hay day when Pamela Ewing drove her Chevrolet Corvette C3 up the gravel drive of Southfork.
Jaded and in need of a good pressure wash and maintenance this hotel retains most of its original features. (Including grubby carpet tiles)
The dusky moldy smell of the room took my breath away when I entered and had me grappling for my asthma puffer. There are definitely problems with damp and drainage in the bathrooms. But that’s to be expected from an aged building that has not been maintained.
Most staff appear to be like disgruntled and run when they see u coming. (Maybe because they cant speak English) From the doorman that doesn’t open doors to the reception staff who simply ignore guests.
The air conditioning only appears to work in the lobby and the rooms. The rest of the place is hot and uncomfortably humid, that includes the breakfast and restaurant area.
If u have low self esteem And don’t mind being treated with distain, like some grubby nostalgia in a reasonable location this might be the place for you.
