Amalia Hotel Delphi

"Spacious & cool"
During a major heat wave, this hotel offered air conditioning & a cool recess in its large public spaces. Huge swimming pool. We have selected this hotel before, and generally there is ample parking, although it was quite full this time due to a conference. It took some time for the a/c in the room to be effective, since it only starts when you insert your key card in the electricity slot, but it was comfortable by bedtime. Rooms are a bit tired in terms of furnishings, but the beds are very comfortable & the bathroom has plenty of room to move around. Complimentary bowl of fruit & bottled water (wish it had a kettle too!). The grounds are beautiful, with abundant roses & a quiet setting among the pines of the mountainside. The view towards the valley to the Gulf of Corinth is wonderful, although the balcony was too hot to use this time. The hotel is set a bit away from the crush of this touristy village, but easily walkable to get into the center for dinner & shopping. Wheeled baggage really rumbles on the rough stone floors of the hotel hallways--the hotel has a unique 70's style that did not anticipate that, but was designed to express use of local materials in sweeping spaces. It is really quite a unique place that combines rustic touches with comfort & nice touches of hospitality.

"boutique hotel but..."
Staff and overall standard of hotel good. However our stay was seriously marred by the presence of a large group of children with their mothers, in which there was negligible parenteral control throughout the hotel. To the best of our knowledge hotel staff took no specific actions to control the aberrant behaviour, despite our politely asking. [screaming and running in the corridors, knocking on our door, continued to after 11pm. This was disappointing and disruptive for a stay in a boutique hotel.

"Nice Hotel Close to Historic Sites and Restaurants"
We flew from Santorini to Athens and then drove to Delphi to visit the local ancient Greek sites. The Nuvi GPS and I had a failure to communicate, so after driving through the town of Delphi going one direction, we came back through town going the other direction on a one-way street, and missed the turn for the street the hotel is on. Once we reached the end of town we had originally entered, we spotted the hotel sign pointing down the hotel’s one-way street, so we pulled into a FREE public parking spot and rolled our luggage down to the hotel. Check-in went smoothly and after admiring the view of the valley below and the Gulf of Corinth in the distance, we left our luggage in our room, and returned to the front desk to get a map of the local area. We took a quick (10 minute) walk to the Delphi museum and adjacent ruins and then walked further down the road to the Sanctuary of Athena. A twenty minute walk brought us back to town were we chose a restaurant from which we watched the sunset while eating dinner. Before returning to our hotel for the night, we enjoyed walking around the town after dark, especially enjoying the Cathedral of Agios Loukas all lit up. Breakfast at the hotel was very nice with a selection of breads, yogurt, meat, cheese, juices, coffee, and tea. We hope to return again!

"Amazing view. "
Gorgeous hotel with a real magical feel. We had an attic room and the extra flight of stairs was so worth the climb. The mountain view was out of this world, such a lovely alpine feel to it but in the sun. Paradise.

"Wow, unbelievable view"
This might be the best view you can possibly get at a budget hotel. Let me first get the basics out of the way, staff was friendly and helpful, the room was the right size for the price (although with a very small shower), internet is decent but not great (place is isolated between the mountains so understandable). All the main sights of Delphi are within walking distance, including the various archaeological sights and museum. What makes this place exceptional is that you have a balcony for your room from which you can see the nearby mountains, other building's rooftops, and even the sea in the distance. Restaurants, shops, etc are all very close to the hotel. Tip: Be sure to have breakfast at the hotel since you can sit at the balcony which has an even more impressive view than the rooms since it is panoramic and has a railing with vines surrounding it.

"Great Hotel, Great Location"
We stayed only one night at Nafsika Palace. We had rented a car and left Athens on our sojourn through the Peloponnese of southern Greece. Delphi was our first stop. I spotted Nafsika Palace in a hotel search of "hotels near Delphi" and thought it looked great, a night by the sea, especially after a day up in the mountains at the Delphi site. The check in was easy, the room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast buffet was wonderful. Itea is a great little town with lots of seaside tavernas. Would stay there again.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
