The room itself was clean however, the hallway and the stairs and the other area seemed like it needed refurbished. The elevator seemed very old and a little shaky.. the restaurant and bar area was not open and the girl who waited on us at the head desk in the evening was not very welcoming. The gentleman in the morning was very friendly when we checked out. The hotel is an area that is very cute though with lots of little restaurants and close to walking distance to some sites.

The Gould Hotel had spacious, quaint rooms. The location is perfect to walk the historical sites in Seneca Falls. Breakfast, you likely will want to skip their breakfast and find your own.

We tried to check in and were told that our rooms which we had confirmation for were not available. "looks like we overbooked", terrible to say the least. One person doing check in and cleaning rooms, not sure how that would work with 21 rooms, even the person at check was flustered, that should have been an indication, when trying to check in. Terrible, we almost ended up without a room, thankfully were able to get another hotel. Clearly the hotel is in need of staff, and it looked abandoned, very disappointed, the person at the front desk was very apologetic, not her fault, how do you run a business like that. EXPEDIA should remove this hotel from their list. TERRIBLE.

Room was ok, this is an old hotel that needs complete renovation then open for business Employees seemed overworked and complained alot. Indoors stairs were dirty, elevator was scary. There were so many dogs in the hotel, stairway hall smelled bad. Continental breakfast was horrid. We left a day early. Expedia would not refund $$ nor would the Gould, so we just left. We should have really studied the reviews before we booked

I grew-up in Seneca Falls and watched the Gould go through changes over the years Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Rooms still retain the charm of renovations done in more recent years, although the room I had is due for a refresh (paint, wooden plank flooring was de-laminating in a couple of places, better lighting). Trying to find the Spectrum Channel Guide on the television and using remote was very tedious; would be helpful to have a Television Channel Guide printed out in each room. Biggest negative was closure of the restaurant/loss of dining options.

We really wanted to like this place - old hotel in a picturesque town. But we were scammed. The restaurant is closed, the bar is closed, the Continental breakfast is closed, the vending machines are closed, the ice machine is closed, and the elevator barely works. The only redeeming thing was that the room was clean and comfortable.

The hotel is centrally located. You may walk to all the museums and all the restaurants. The parking is free and next door. The hotel is old, but the room was clean and quiet. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The parking was the best thing sbout the property. The air conditioning went out in our 1st room and the staff said they couldn't do anything. Temp was 76. Next day we were moved to an "upgraded" room. It was a handicap room, which the shower was not appropriate for our use. By morning the temp was up to 73, so it appeared that unit also was not working. The toilet also was very sluggish. It appeared there were not many rooms that were totally functional The description of the hotel said it had a bar, restaurant and daily housekeeping. The website showed pictures of the areas. It was thst reason we chosed this site None of those were available and it didn't appear to have been opened for awhile. Very disappointed.
