We recently stayed at this 97-year-old hotel and absolutely loved the authentic, almost century-old charm it offers. From the moment you step in, you feel the history woven into every detail — a rare vibe that makes this place truly special. The hotel is quiet and conveniently located literally next to a hospital, which surprisingly adds to its peaceful atmosphere. It’s also incredibly walkable — just steps from public transportation, great restaurants, and major Seattle attractions like The Pike Place Market, Space Needle, museums, library, and downtown shopping. While the rooms do not have air conditioning (true to its historical roots), the hotel provides electric fans. Honestly, we didn’t even need ours — the cool harbor breeze kept the room naturally comfortable and cozy. Customer service was excellent throughout our stay, and the affordability for such a prime location is hard to beat. If you’re looking for a quiet, charming, and centrally located place to stay in Seattle with a touch of living history — this is it. Highly recommend!

Horrible. No ventilation in room whatsoever, some insanely loud screeching industrial fan was going outside the room the whole time, so hot we couldn’t sleep, no ac no vents even in the room. Bed was like a rock, horrible sheets and blankets and pillows.

I liked the safe, clean atmosphere here. I didnt like that it was a 9 block walk from the pier. That was scary. I dont remember Seattle being this scary. Lots of Marijuana, trash in the streets, and panhandlers. I dont mind giving but these folks were pretty scary.

Motel six is a step above...a big step

They are not wheelchair unless you have rockets on your chair to get in the front door. They advertise room service, no room service, internet was down, no ac but two very dirty fans i used in front of the horribly working fridge which kept popping fuses. Front desks answered hold please over a dozen times then hangs up after a bit. Restaurant cant do room charges and had no coffee cups unless you like cheep paper...I don't. Bathroom was filthy. Furniture old and falling apart. No bed bugs..that is all I can say for them. Anyone who thinks this is over two stars has never been in a decent hotel. It screams flea bag at the top of their lungs. Oh and the phone was broken..i had to crawl on the carpet to plug it in to call the posted number for room service that didn't exist.
Worn down furniture no room for towels in the dirty bathroom
The door was stuck this way
No cord attached to the back, pulls hanging by a thread, finish rough and dirty
Air conditioning might have worked if the fridge worked

For a 2 star hotel this hotel exceeded our expectations. We knew going into our stay that we would not have access to AC, thankfully the weather in Seattle was relatively cool so after using the provided fans, opening the windows, and closing the curtains we were able to have the room a comfortable temperature for the rest of our stay. The room was very clean, the rooms were large and the beds were incredibly comfortable. The hotel is at the top of a very steep hill so if you are not up to some urban hiking keep that in mind. Area around the hotel was very clean and quiet and we found it walkable to many areas. Wifi was hit or miss (often connection slowed in the evening) but for the price and the location I think this hotel is better than most. Some considerations to keep in mind, but definitely not the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in.
