Sandy Hook Vacation Packages

Reasonable price but we had no microwave in the room and TV didn’t work. Staff was very helpful.

The bathroom was a total mess. The faucet on the shower was broken and I could barely shower.

The room was cleaned with over powering chemicals. If you suffer from migraines or have issues with smells stay away. The smell lasted for the first two days and our noses felt like they were burned. We even left the door open some. When we asked for new towels the cleaning staff initially told us that we would be charged. There was three of us staying and only two towels. There is no hair dryer or coffee pot. The ice machine was broken. There was no trashbags and only one small can. When we arrived we had 1/2 a roll of toilet paper and they had an an attitude when we asked for another roll. We will never stay at another red roof inn.

This stay was a one and done … never again. Firmness of the mattress was fine but the bed lacked adequate bedding for warmth. My husband had to go out to our car in the middle of the night and grab the full-size fleece blanket to get warmed up. Breakfast was a “snooze, you loose” affair. It was a 7:00am to 9:30am serving timeframe, which was fine because most motels/hotels use these hours. However, we showed up at 8:00am and there was NO milk left for the cold cereal. Ever try eating dry Raisin Brand? It’s like eating sawdust! No hotel associate was available to ask for more milk. Variety/selection of edibles was minimal and I mean minimal. Coffee (thankfully), dry cereal, orange juice, and “grab and go” trail bars … we would have been better off going down the street to Waffle House for a decent breakfast. Only positive is that we were indoors for the night and did not have to sleep in the car.

We have stayed in this hotel probably a dozen times the past few years. We have never had an issue until this stay. While it was not the worst of scenarios, it was still inconvenient. We checked in quickly, reported to the room and immediately smelled food - we realized that there were left overs open in the fridge and had been in there for a while. We initially was just going to throw it in the trash in the hallway, but my wife checked out the restroom and the tub had obviously not been touched by the cleaning staff. I contacted the front desk and they quickly gave me another room. It was much better than the previous one.
