"Beautiful boutique hotel in Puerto Viejo"
We came during Feb 2016. First of all we were welcome by the front desk staff who were very courteous and nice. We were upgraded to a junior suit: really large room, all white with nice details in blue, confortable king bed, sofa, coffee table, desk and balcony/deck with 2 chairs and a small table. AC worked perfectly. Bathroom was large, two faucets, really clean, great shower. Breakfast was included and served in a nice restaurant surrounded by plants with a view to a fountain. It took a little over 15 min for the food to come out but it was good, although portions are not large. Beach across the street was nice and private w/ several chairs and tables, nice verandas and a bar/restaurant. All personnel were very nice, greeting you throughout the day, service was outstanding. It's worth the price and I will definitely come back.

"Rustic and secluded with fantastic staff"
Secure and secluded yet a 5 minute walk from beaches, pubs, restaurants, and stores and 10 minutes from the entrance to the National Park. The Cabinas nor Cahuita itself are for those expecting to relax at the cabins or laze about on the beach with any kind of services. There are lots of local tours and beaches and towns to visit all in the Pura Vida style... that is, very low key and basic. My only two complaints would be that better, safer looking hot water be supplied and something be done about the camp dogs... very friendly and their security is appreciated but their barking can wake you throughout the night.

"Nice hotel close to the beach"
Frist and foremost, I would like to say thank you to the manager of the hotel as my flight arrived a day late due to cancellations. I called the hotel the day I was to arrived and asked if my reservation could be pushed back a day without losing the room for the days paid. The manager stated it wasn't a problem and moved the reservation without having to pay any additional fees or red tape. The registration process was simple and only took a few minutes before I was given the keys and escorted up to the room. The room was typical for a beach hotel. There was a sitting area in front with a bench and hammock. When you walked in, a very short hallway led to the sleeping area with a full size bed and storage. Ask for additional pillows and towels. The bathroom entrance was on the other side of the storage. The sink leaked a little but otherwise was fine. Behind the sleeping area was the kitchen with table, chairs, medium size fridge, gas stove and cooking utensils. Then the door way that led to the balcony with table, chairs and a wonderful view of the beach. You could also access the beach through the back of the property. The staff was very friendly. One of the staff members suggested we leave the pool area when a storm was about to approach. Flat screen TV and Wi-Fi was sufficient.

"Beautiful jungle location "
Idyllic setting nestled on edge of rainforest just across the street from the beach and a 10 min bicycle ride from Puerto Viejo. Beautiful landscaping with pool - most rooms cabins/bungalows. Simple tasteful natural decor, open dining/lobby/bar. Staff were wonderful - Expedia had screwed up our reservation but the management and staff went out of their way to accommodate us. Good food, great value and child friendly - plenty of wildlife on site plus ping pong, pool table.

"An adventure"
If it weren't for two things, we would have absolutely loved this hotel, but the things are fairly major: First, while we were taking our first load of luggage into the hotel, our car was broken into, and two important bags were taken, which contained computer, passport, and various electronics. The hotel owner did help us through the police report, but as apparently this is a common occurrence in Costa Rica, some parking lot surveillance would have been in order--or at least a warning. Second, the wonderful tent cabins are placed so close together that you can hear everything in the adjoining cabin, from deep breathing to toileting. They are literally about 12 feet apart. The unit next to ours had a crying baby, which must have been a stress for the parents as well as for all the neighbors. . Now the good stuff: The units are simply gorgeous. I don't understand how they keep things so fresh - we didn't smell a trace of mold. You really felt out in the jungle. We saw a sloth near our unit, and a troupe of howler monkeys nearby. The walk to the beach is short, and the beach is beautiful and very clean. The free breakfast was good, and the service was excellent. I'm not sure I would go again, because of the two issues mentioned above, but it was a unique experience.

"Beautiful setting fronting the beach. "
The accommodations were comfortable with a friendly staff. The dinner menu was limited to tasty pizzas but restaurants were plentiful in nearby Puerto Viejo. Taxi transportation was reliable and inexpensive that took us to the reefs at Manzanillo beach.

Caribbean Coast is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Caribbean Coast, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Caribbean Coast hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
